Pasta with Octopus from Dan and Ev

Huge thanks to Dan and Ev for this great meal. I hope you enjoyed my video as much as I had fun making it and trying your great meals. I used the word great in three sentences in a row ( including this one), wish I was more creative or knew how to use the back space key.

Great video brother, it was really tender before freeze drying not sure if the boiling water might have made it pretty chewy. It would be a pain but I guess separating the octopus from the pasta and rehydration it with just warm water could possibly work. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for giving it a try

I'm not much for fish but octopus is good stuff. I can't say I've ever had it FD though, very interesting. Your nature breaks are amazing👍

It has been my experience that octopus is naturally chewy. (But I do have limited experience) That being said. I wish that I could have tried that.... It looked so good! I bet they don't make a low carb version!!

The only low carb noodles that I have had that were good, were ones made from zucchini. Those would be good in this dish. Wish you could have tried the octopus before I rehydrated it. That was something.

That is a giant portion! I've only had Octopus a few times but I liked it. maybe the freeze-drying or re-hydrating process wasn't the best for it? it sure looked tasty! love those nature shots!

I like octopus too, but this time it was not as good as I have had it before. I think those elk are getting used to me. They are there all the time.

The suction cups are the chewiest part, especially if not cooked properly in the beginning; using the arm/leg meat is the right move. I love properly prepared octopus.

I was wondering about the firmness of the octopus. Definitely a unique meal. Maybe spice up the pasta with some soy sauce and powdered ginger. The noodles looked good though.

@@YourOldPalFernbark octopus is always chewy, no matter how you cook it. my favorite way is on the grill with a teriyaki sauce. Literally takes a minute on each side.

I’ve had octopus more than a few ways…boiled in octopus head salad; smoked and served with onions, capers and kewpie mayo; raw and cured between pieces of kombu ( kelp seaweed ). I’ve never had it that chewy unless it wasn’t prepared correct initially. Or maybe freeze drying does something weird to the texture. Great review though. 👍

I've noticed FD and Dehydrated shrimp are pretty chewy, so perhaps it is just something that happens with certain seafood.
