You are not spraying enough alcohol on the surface. Use UArt grade 400 or 500 and make sure the spray is evenly distroibuted. Some artist dip a brush in a small container of alcohol and apply it that way. I find the spray works better fr me. Good Luck

What ever I try ... alc in different grades - it does not work. It rather gets sucked up by paper immediately or does not work at all. What is this magic? :D

You're meant to spray the alcohol on the paper, I believe. It's a common mistake, especially wen cooking. Your grandmother always said it boils off, but everyone knows that almost none of the brandy went into the Christmas pudding.
