This is a very special portrait that came out almost by itself...In this particular case I didn't wanted to smooth the surface but to keep as much as possible the pastel strokes. The textures..Hope you´ll like it!

I have looking for my medium for two years. I'm a sketcher at heart, and pastels feel like a natural thing to me compared to other mediums I've tried like water colour and acrylic. Watching you do your joy with pastels was actually a joy to watch. I feel like I know where to begin, now. Thank you so much for sharing skills and joy with the rest of us. +FunkyLittleWhiteGirl "KZbin is a magical place for artists who can't afford expensive art classes" I agree with that statement soooo much. I feel like 90% of my artistic education has just come from watching KZbinrs, such as this very talented portraitist.

Exactly. KZbin is a visual delight for any artist who wants to learn a new technique. I thought art education in British schools was dire but when you have such fine examples and exponents available on youtube, then why not use that medium to teach and encourage youngsters instead?
