I enjoyed how you blended the pastels and used not just ‘ flat’ colors. Our underpaintings really make a difference. I haven’t taken any of your classes but have watched your tutorials. Showing makes the difference in my learning and I noticed that you didn’t overly talk about why you are doing something a certain way, you just show it. I feel actually bad for instructors who talk about every single thing cause it is a huge turnoff. I come from a wc background but have done pastels ,colored pencils and charcoal. I would enjoy learning more from your videos and hope someday some artists stop saying “you shouldn’t blend your pastels’. I also watercolor paint and carefully apply Art Spectrum clear pastel and multi media primer over areas and combine both media. Art is fun!

I have been drawing for years. However mostly black and white with spot coloring. I got a very nice set of colored pencil to get better at drawing. So I came to you good sir. REVIEW OF TUTUORIALS: I first purchased Will's 'Intro to Coloured Pencils' and 'Coloured Pencil Portrait' Courses for $10 each. I subsequently joined his Patreon. Will's style of teaching very relaxed, yet comprehensive, and it suits my style of learning and way I tend to use pencils perfectly. No question is too simple or too complex for Will not to give a full and exhaustive explanation. I feel my colour pencil technique has improved a lot since I started following his tutorials. #ninjapurple #needsmorepurple

I think you mention before you had the pan pastel set or some of them. Would you ever consider doing a base with and going on top with the pencils for he details?

I did that for a project a few years ago. I may do it again sometime. But I tend not to because Pans are expensive and that makes it more difficult to follow along for some people.

Absolutely stunning art. Thank you so much. I have a question and would really appreciate anyone reading if they could help me out. Do I need to wear a mask when pastelling? I use soft pastels and I notice that my throat gets quite sore after using them for a long time. Any advice welcomed! Thanks 🥰

I have never felt the need to wear a mask, but the dust can bother you if you are sensitive to it. By using pastel pencils there is a lot less dust than regular soft pastel.
