I cry every time I hear this. Especially this version. When a parent says goodbye it's never easy to get over and I guess you never do. You just learn to live with the weight around your neck. Some days it sure pulls you down to the ground. Other days it just bruises your chest, right over where your heart beats on. All the other comments about how this isn't a tribute to her father. But I don't think it is. I think it's her trying to carry the stone. Or two stones. Her mother's suicide and her father's leaving. I am so glad she had a loving aunt. So she could grow up and make these beautiful songs. Thanks for putting this out into the universe.

Wow; more heart-stopping sounds out of Nashville. What a time to be a music fan.

Omg...shades of Loretta and Patsy...apples don't fall far from trees. She has the pause and intonation of her Dad but a delivery all her own. I just discovered her and will throw a few of these over to our local collage radio peeps.

Great song. For those that are unaware, and for some context, her Mother killed herself when she was one.
