Pastor Charles Lawson - What Is It Like In Hell?? (VERY POWERFUL) (Audio Sermon 1982!)

Are you sure you're going to heaven when you die? Or are you willing to chance your eternal soul and possibly end up in hell fire?? Why not make sure of the matter today, while there is still time?
The good news is: You can KNOW that you're going to heaven. The Bible clearly states:
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13
You see, God wants us to KNOW, and have the matter settled. There can be no misery greater than living life wondering if some day you will lift up your eyes in hell!
The Bible so wonderfully makes salvation clear. It is a gift given of God, that cannot be earned in any way of our own doing.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5
Jesus Christ made this wonderful, free salvation possible.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Do you see what the verse says? It is simply BELIEF, or rather FAITH, TRUST, in Jesus Christ and his finished work on Calvary that saves. I am so thankful for these following verses that tell of man who sincerely wanted to be saved, and was told how:
"Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:29-30
Christ came to this earth, God in the flesh, a perfect man who never committed sin. He sacrificed His life of the cross of Calvary, shed His blood, as PAYMENT for our sin. You see, our sin separates us from a perfect and Holy God. We have no way to approach God in and of ourselves, for He is HOLY, righteous, perfect, and pure. He cannot tolerate sin. So Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world, that we might be reconciled *(bought back) to God. We can come to the Father through Jesus Christ His Son!
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
So what must I believe, more specifically, about Jesus Christ to be eternally saved, you may ask...? You are saved by BELIEVING the good news of the Gospel, Christ's death, burial, and resurrection!
When you accept this beautiful truth, that Christ loves you and died for YOUR sins, and arose from the grave FOR YOU, TO SAVE YOU FROM HELL, and you simply say yes to Him (call upon the Lord), in child-like simplicity, offering nothing of yourself or self-righteousness to God, but clinging only to CHRIST'S MERIT and HIS righteousness, YOU WILL BE SAVED.
1 Corinthians 15 says:
"1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Would you be willing to put your whole-hearted faith on Jesus to make it to heaven... instead of trusting yourself and your own way? If you say yes, and will trust what the Bible promises to every sinner who would believe on Jesus Christ, would you humbly go to God in prayer and ask Him to save you in the name of Jesus?

Hello John: Please be aware, salvation can only be received as an Unmerited FREE GIFT Trusting ONLY on the death (includes the shedding of Jesus' blood), burial, and resurrection of Jesus, God the Son who came as God in flesh, for salvation, with NO faith on any human effort and/or works for receiving and/or keeping salvation. This is the truth that really was emotional I was just thinking about my step kids, there's two daughters 16 and 18 please pray for them for they will find the Lord.. and there's a son that is 22 they weren't raised Christian, I've been with my wife for 5 yrs one of them lives with us I haven't really got a chance to talk to the one that doesn't.. so hard and they're already filled with this world and they don't know like I do like I was raised by Christian parents that showed me the way I don't know how to talk to them about it without feeling weird please pray for me

By the photo think this was a while back? The message was a very strong and fearful message of what hell is like and where you go at the time of death that's not saved. I'm so glad I love my Lord and believe in him and saved. People just don't want to hear about Hell. This was explained in very detail and I understand much more. I lived in East TN. Hancock County for 25yrs. Had to move to GA. So glad to listen to you everyday on utube. Don't ever go away we all need to hear the Word of The Christ Jesus. Bless you Preacher Lawson.

For All: Please be aware, salvation can only be received as an Unmerited FREE GIFT Trusting ONLY on the death (includes the shedding of Jesus' blood), burial, and resurrection of Jesus, God the Son who came as God in flesh, for salvation, with NO faith on any human effort and/or works for receiving and/or keeping salvation. When a person believes the good news, gospel of salvation, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV), ONCE, God Immediately makes the believer born-again (permanently spiritually sinless in God’s eyes regarding standing and salvation). Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) - “For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of YOURSELVES: it is the gift of God; NOT of WORKS, lest any man should boast.” (GRACE means UNMERITED FREE GIFT. NO human effort or works can be involved in receiving or keeping salvation; there is Nothing a person can do to qualify for or earn any part of salvation.) Romans 11:6 (KJV), “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace....” (Trusting on ANY human effort or works means that person is not under grace, but is attempting to qualify for salvation by the law/commandment keeping/human effort, and is therefore NOT saved)

Take a look at these verses showing *the unsaved will perish:* they'll be destroyed and not "be" anymore: ■ “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) ■ “For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.” (Psalm 37:10) ■ “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever” (Psalms 92:7) ■ "As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation" (Proverbs 10:25). ■ "Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?" (Job 20:4-7). ■ "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23) ■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) There's nothing in those verses about eternal life in torment. The pagan doctines of immortal soul and eternal torment crept into churches long, long ago. Translators then wrote "hell" into the Bible by mis-translating several Greek words. For example: ■ “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Mark 9:47, KJV) “Hell” in that verse is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or “gehenna,” the dump outside Jerusalem. The trash and garbage thrown there was sure to be destroyed by the constant fire -“hell fire”- and worms (maggots) in the dump. Jesus was only saying that just as trash thrown into the dump was sure to be destroyed, the wicked would surely be destroyed. They would perish and never again "be" as we saw earlier. Here's another verse where "hell" is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or "gehenna": ■ "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28) Wait a minute . . . how can a soul be destroyed if it's immortal? Was Jesus wrong? Of course not. In pagan Greek philosophy the soul was an immortal spiritual component of a person that separates from the body at death and keeps on living, forever. But in the Bible, soul refers to a person, to the self, the life -not to some sort of immortal component. For example: ■ “And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.” (Acts 27:37) ■ "The soul that sinneth, it shall die . . ." (Ezeliel 18:20). Compare that to the "soul" according to pagan Greek religion: _"Do we believe that there is such a thing as death? And is this anything but the separation of soul and body? And being dead is the attainment of this separation; when the soul exists in herself, and is parted from the body and the body is parted from the soul . . . beyond question the soul is immortal and imperishable, and our souls will truly exist in another world!"_ (Plato, in _Phaedo,_ about 360 BC) What you just read sounds just like what you'll hear in most churches today. Can you now see what has happened? Over the centuries pagan Greek religion has crept into church doctrine! Along with the immortal soul came hell, as a necessary explanation for where the unsaved spend eternity! The “immortal soul” has roots in Satan’s original lie: ■ “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4) Salvation is NOT about "where you'll spend eternity." You won't even *_have_* an eternity unless you receive from God the gift of eternal life! Otherwise you'll perish and no longer "be" as we saw earlier.

Just a few that immediately came to mind after reading your comment and I couldn't disagree more with you. We have a generation of zombies who are so numb from constant coddling and self- affirmation, self-love, 10th place trophies and dead messages from the pulpit, that this preaching is so so neccessary. No hard feelings but it was this type of preaching that brought me under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and led me to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Please consider before you criticize.
