Shiva who very old god and root for many religion. Aasivagam is completely based on science, philosophy and which ever needed for our people. In tamil we call temple as kovil (ko = king . ill = home) king is the god for people in his kingdom. The great kings who contributed to growth of human civilization are became god. So aasivagam is not just religion it is the system with no superstition. Lord muruga who started agriculture is next to shiva. Now we have many religion which are derived from other religion because religion is a system or guidelines for people which are need to be adopted for every region. So basically all religion are same which need to guide the people. What we have now is religion controlled by set of people and use the people belief for their profit. All we need is peace and be good to others. Following a religion mean following the words of god not religious leaders. If you are christian then learn bible understand the moral and follow it. But don't believe the superstition or fantasy story created to convey the moral. In simple aasivagam is the system followed by tamil people. Even now we follow many thing. Aaryas copied the aasivagam and included the many thing to make brahmin are superior caste and slowly killed the aasivagam. People never realized the changes because it was slow process. Comparing North indian temple and TN temple will show the difference. Now tamil hindu are 70% aasivagam and 30% superstition. Similar all tamil christian also once followed aasivagam now they follow jesus so they follow words of Jesus with tamil culture which is basically aasivagam lifestyle. Religion leaders thinks aasivagam as religion or part of hinduism and telling people to stop following tamil culture to differentiate religions. All religions needs to be adopted to the region and culture. This pastor speaking truth.

@@ronniesamdesantos don't think shiva as hindu god. As far as I know shiva is not a single person. It just a name. It is aadhi sithar who is the head of all sithars. First of all aasivagam is not a religion it is part of tamil culture or system we follow. As per aasivagam main god is kula daivam (varies for each family). Example all female god generally called as amman. In south tamilnadu you will find many kings, warriors as kula deivam because of their sacrifice to people. They accept them as god.
