It is very important that we always have preparatory periods of both physical and spiritual examinations before we engage in a fast. Fasting is a very important part of our faith but must be conducted with the guideship and leadership of the holy spirit!

Point of correction, the Nigeria government has nothing to do with this. Moreover the word of God says that God is not the author of confusion. God never called some pastors, they called theirselves. Not everyone preaching the gospel means he or she is called by God. Some are doing it as business while some thinks doing it will makes God to blessed them. It doesn't works like that. For example anybody with some illness, he or she supposed not to fast. That is while the bible says that my people perish for lack of knowledge. Additionally, when fasting if you see that you cannot continue again due to one reason or the other, you can break your fasting, the bible makes us to understand that there's no sin in breaking our fasting if we feel we can no longer continue. I rest my case

I can never say that I understand the mystery of life, death, fasting, prayer, etc. completely. However, I wanted to embark on 21 days dry fasting, if possible not to stop until I got an answer. On the night of the first day, I had a revelation where I climbed a building and got to the top which was nearly touching the sky. I wanted to climb down but couldn't locate the any stairs downward, so I asked someone up there to show me the way and he told me that whoever climbs up there cannot climb down and that it's only God that can determine wether the person will go back or remain . I eventually opted for 7 days since I couldn't tell what God's decision will be. Some fasted 40 days and survived others fasted less than and died, it's a mystery. Sometimes these things are deeper than we know. Let's not forget that Jesus Christ said that there's a kind of evil that only go by fasting and prayer. May we be guided to fast right.

Whenever our body is weak, we need to rest. God wants us to rest, that is why He instructed the children of Israel to rest on the Sabbath day. The leading of God is important in spiritual task. At times people engage in spiritual task without the leading of God. Wherever God sends someone to, He will protect the person there.
