For this PURPOSE the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. Never forget what sin is. 1John 3: 4 says sin is the transgression of the law.Rom 6:23 says the wages of sin is eternal death. Jesus came to save us from the penalty of sin and the power of sin The opposite of sin is righteousness or obedience. The law is the great standard of righteousness that we all will be judged by Eccl 12:12-14. This is what we will be tested by in particular the fourth command which nearly all churches have forgotten. While only Christ's blood can save us from sin and it's consequences, obedience is the condition for Jesus to save us which is as important. The works of the devil are his temptations to disobey our loving Heavenly Father and receive the same fate as he will receive ETERNAL death or perdition for our disobedience
