My church is in a Conservative County in Wisconsin. Earlier this year, the County health official tried to make it a law that all places, both private and public, including churches were required to follow the CDC's guidelines in the building. She wanted everyone in the building to wear face masks, do social distancing, and use hand sanitizers ALL the time. She wanted to be able to send health officials to the place, including churches, UNANNOUNCED to make sure that the guidelines were followed. The first time that they weren't, there was a stiff fine. The second time that they weren't, that place would be permanently closed. There was a public meeting in the County courthouse. The building was packed. The vote on the new law FAILED in a landslide 14-1! It's a small County. Every Sunday, my church is packed. No one wears any face mask, we don't do any social distancing, and we don't use hand sanitizers. We also sing old-fashioned hymns very loudly to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My church has been completely open for over a year now except for 2 weeks in May and 2 weeks in October. Our Christian school has also been completely open during that same time frame.

He wasn't told he couldn't worship. He was asked like everyone to seek to follow protocols for the health of his neighbors. He could have as many services as he wanted but not with capacity numbers. This is not a gospel issue, but a political stance by a covid skeptic.
