Thank you Michael Grant. As it is written, "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." Anyone who is fellowshipping with any of these charlatans, false teachers, false prophets, merchandise peddlers, angel feather and gold dust fable makers..... will be under the same judgment as them. True believers must abstain from all appearance of evil. Prove all things, hold fast to that which is good. 🙏🙏

I just came across your channel and must say your analysis is spot on. While we cannot say for certain if someone is a true believer or not, both Sam Storms and Michael Brown have shown over and over again that they do not hold the truth in high regard. They do not care if someone is preaching falsehoods. And they put their friendships with men above their supposed love for God and the truth. I cannot see how someone who is born of the The Spirit, whom is indwelt with the Holy Spirit, can say things like they don't care if a person is speaking/performing falsely in the name of God. It should grieve all true believers when they see God being ridiculed and misrepresented. If someone doesn't care, as Michael Brown and Sam Storms do not care, in my opinion we should absolutely in no way whatsoever treat them as if they are members of the body of Christ. While that roundtable mentioned did bring to light these issues, I think both Justin Peters and Jim Osman should have clearly stated that they do not treat them as brothers in Christ, due to that very issue. They do not need to state that they are unbelievers, because just stating that they do not treat them as brothers in Christ should be more than sufficient to let everyone know that their (Brown/Storms) actions are absolutely in complete opposition to what we are taught in the Bible.

Went to a charismatic church for a couple years right after i got saved. People there were super loving but the messages got to be like a show and they really made the person the focus and not God. God was spoken of like a santa Claus or jeannie where you get everything you want to live a happy life with hardly any problems. They say imagine YOUR DREAMS instead of asking God how He wants them to serve. They make it all about the person.

amen, I pray that people would mark and avoid Brown/Storms. At the "Convergence" conference Brown and Storms "train" the prophetic. Sam Storms said it does not matter when one gets it wrong on God giving prophetic urges/words as long as people are prayed for but in God's word getting it wrong one time in the Old Testament equaled death and listening to a false prophet would make one worthless (Jeremiah 23:16). Simon the sorcerer thought he could buy the gifts and Sam Storms and Brown headline conferences that literally with the price of the entrance fee sell the "training" for the gifts. Their books/words should be avoided. There are reformed pastors that ask their churches to make space for Storms, ugh. I pray it would no longer be the case. We have the the resurrected Christ, His finished work on the cross. His risen life, Him as our only mediator, and these modern false prophets point people to seek after signs which shipwrecks entire house holds.

He did it on that round table discussion when Justin Peters challenged him on Sid Roth, he pulled out the vile and racist things Martin Luther said in this masterful deflection/whataboutism maneuver without ever actually addressing Sid Roth other than "I know him". Question for Pastor Grant and this is little off topic, but is repent of your sins biblical?
@mandydoerfler29097 күн бұрын
Recently found your videos and appreciate them. My husband and I are becoming weary of churches and feel like we just have to pick one with the “least problems”. We aren’t perfect and neither is any church, we get that. However, we would just like to find a church with discerning people and leaders. We are in a very rural area where the choices are 1) progressive 2) too charasmatic 3) seemingly traditional but use “famous worship” (elevation) or 4) Mennonite 😞 We thought our current church was solid, and while we’ve never heard heresy from the pulpit, the main pastor seems obsessed with John Piper and is even taking people to CrossCon where David Platt is also speaking. He also had the youth read Platts Radical missions book. 😣 Other concerns too, but researching in our tri-county area is kind of depressing.
@aaronlee68215 күн бұрын
I can feel for you in your position, because I'm in many ways the same. There is absolutely no church in my area that I can feel comfortable in being a member of. I do regularly attend the least problematic church near me, and I teach Sunday school and Bible studies in that church, but I do not teach in any way practices in the church which I do not agree with. I know it is best that all believers are a member of a local church, but I simply cannot endorse a church, via my membership, if I have the reservations about them that I do. I generally get nothing out of the pastor's sermons, which are very shallow/light. I get much more out of studying the Bible on my own, preparing for Bible studies / Sunday school lessons. And to hear good preaching, listen to my favorite pastors on KZbin. I know it's far, far from ideal, but for those of us who are geographically isolated from a good church, I don't know of any better alternative. For the longest time I didn't take any action towards doing something about it, but in starting up these Bible studies, perhaps it will lead to finding a group of like-minded believers, and we can eventually meet outside of the church, in a home or such. One member of our Bible study in particular has been in the church for more than a decade, but seemingly hadn't matured much at all, but in just a couple months in our Bible study has matured perhaps more than in the past 10 years. The hope of getting a solid group of believers who aren't ashamed of any part of God's Word and eagerly seek to fellowship with others of the same mind is what encourages me to keep along this path.

The Pentecostal/ charismatic movement is huge. There are plenty of excesses in this movement and particularly amongst "word of faith" teachers who appear on the media. Money does seem to greatly influence their actions. In some ways this is low hanging fruit but it is right to criticise these excesses. I really dont watch Sid Roth much. Although i might watch more if there are more taiking horses- sounds lime great comedy. Personally i tend to feel he is on the wildly optimistic delusional side of this but hes genuine- wanting to see the mighty hand of God in everything. I dont find this terrible as long as you recognise this. Michael Brown is a very smart and articulate christian. His strongly messiamic jewish beliefs irritate me at times but he is a formidable intellect and his knowledge of scriptures is extensive. I personally think that he does defend his mi isterial friends almost to a fault. Thats true of ministers from other church groupings. Some of that is giving people the benefit of the doubt. But there are millions of Pentecostals throughout the world who are perfectly sound.. They operate in the gifts of the Spirit. Justin Peters has his good points but he is a cessationist and calvanist and he is somewhat biased - criticising charismatics for not being cessationist. I was saved in an AOG church in England. There was 200 at the midweek prayer meeting. Had special university level meetings to study the word and operared in the gifts of the Spirit. I was baptised in the Spirit there and spoke in tongues. The worship was outstanding including wesleyan hyms.

Your reward is the foul taste in your mouth after trash talking other believers. If we are not allowed to speak ill of Satan, how can we speak ill of our brothers and sisters? Michael Brown is in my opinion the most dangerous of the charismatics. He is smart scholarly and very clever and cagy. Another is as you said Sam Storms and NT scholar Craig Keener. Gordon Fee although old is another sophisticated scholar and the two defenders of the Charismatic heresy and delusion DA Carson and John Piper. Michael Brown can be quite nasty too. James White is a friend of Brown and has wholly endorsed him. The same Janes White who now has three tattoos a supposed mature solid man of God. The influence of Jeff Durbin and the new brave and bold young Calvinist. White does not handle moral criticism and reproof well either. Just like Brown. Sad and disappointing.
