Around that time, he announced that his good friend Oprah Winfrey was going to be teaching at his upcoming Christian Women’s conference. I remember being jolted when he said that, I couldn’t understand why God would direct him to have a pagan woman teach Christian women anything. I base that mostly on Psalm 1. It’s one thing for him to invite her to the conference and pray she’ll get saved while there, and a whole other thing to use her to TEACH biblical principles to believers, when Oprah doesn’t believe the gospel herself. Of course I know God never told him to do that, he was listening to his carnal fleshly nature, not to God. Having Oprah teach at a conference would be like Jesus asking a heathen to help him preach the beatitudes at the Sermon on the Mount….He might invite him to listen to the lessons, to draw him to Jesus, but certainly not to teach them when he’s not saved himself That’s when I felt God say to not watch his TV programs again, so I stopped. This was years before the Sean Combs/Diddy stuff came out, at least as far as I know, and TD Jakes has been walking in the flesh for many years.

I was starting to notice things in my church, ⛪️ but wanted to be sure God was leading me away, because I didn’t have concrete evidence, but I do have discernment. One Sunday morning, with a packed church, a guest speaker who was a leader of a different church similar to ours, stepped up to the pulpit, and said, “I’ve seen pretty pastors wives before but Pastor ---‘s wife is the hottest!!” I couldn’t believe it, more than half the church laughed out loud, including the pastor whose wife he was talking about, and every associate pastor up there. There’s nothing wrong with complimenting someone from the pulpit, but calling someone “hot” is a sexual term. It’s completely inappropriate and the pastor whose wife he spoke about should not have laughed about it. Neither should the congregation. Then they started joking about who the best ball player was, the most athletic, bragging about their families, and it was 15 or 20 minutes at least before they even mentioned Jesus. I felt very grieved. I left there and haven’t been back. And I’m still not in a church, I’m spending time with God, he hasn’t led me back. I’m not saying that’s for everyone but please don’t stay in a church where the people and the messages are carnal, and the emphasis isn’t on Jesus Christ and His word.✝️

All it takes for unbelievers to have more “ammunition” to use against the church, is for them to not be able to tell much difference from the guys down at the bar, and some Christian’s at the church.⛪️ I’m not saying they don’t use that as an excuse, but why give them more ammunition? Jesus said to go into all the world and make disciples. Not all believers can go to foreign countries, but they can go somewhere! i was raised in a charismatic church and grew to listen to pastors like TD Jakes and joyce meyers, joel olsteen, it wasn’t until i watched john macaurthurs sermon “saved or self deceived” that i realized i was in a false religion following false teachers. i was able to get my Grandmother away from those pastors too.
