@@istrong453 unfortunately this is very common in believers because of their teachings (misteachings) stemming from the law and grace topics. You ever heard preachers teach grace one Sunday and the law the next. They don't get that the law is holy but is weak through the flesh (cannot be obtained through behavior but only by faith in Christ who accomplished the law for us- bc we can't.) To engage the Holy Spirit one must receive grace and not revert back into the law. Notice everyone that does not have a spiritual relationship and understanding basically has a misteaching somewhere in their doctrine that has them living bound by the law. Like Bishop said they limit the Holy Ghost to works (gifts and talents, or emotions), basically outward things. Do not understand the Spirit as an indwelling within their thoughts- so do not listen for Him in their thoughts.

What a horrible "sermon". We were not before. There was only God before. He created us the day we were born, but knew of the idea of us before. We never "WERE". He knew we would eventually "be" but we did NOT live in a past life or era. That is what Mormons teach and that is VERY dangerous information.
