That looks fun, you have so much responsibilities, eventhough i also have work as casual worker in Marriott Yogyakarta Indonesia but we as trainee or daily worker dont have that much responsibilities or the staffs are just to afraid to give their responsible to us

So we just prepare for breakfast condiment and standby on stall breakfast/lunch/dinner
@francescastillo37632 жыл бұрын
I started like that too! The staff made us do minor preparations because if we make a huge mistake, it will be critical to the operations. But what I did was take the initiative to do the tasks other than what was assigned to me. They eventually had the confidence to make me work alone with major preparations and cooking. Remember, be confident but not arrogant. Humility in the kitchen can earn you respect! 😊

I've been wanting to be a pastry chef since child, but my relatives keep saying that it will not work because I'm a Muslim 😞, i really want to bake and make everyone taste my creations
@kehkashannaimeth33633 жыл бұрын
You can be a pastry chef! Being a muslim should not stop you from doing what you love. I know many pastry chefs who are Muslims. So don't listen to ppl do what you love! 😊

Hi Almerah, whatever your race or religious beliefs are, it should not deter you from following your dreams. In fact the kitchen is ethnically diverse and we learn from each others cultures through food! Start little by little and when your relatives taste your creations, I'm sure they'll change their minds. 😊

Hii Frances! Greeting from Indonesia. I’m Selly passionate into a pastry chef and would like to have working experiences in abroad. Sorry, may I know how did you apply for the job in abroad? How did the procedure do ??
@francescastillo37632 жыл бұрын
Hello, Selly. I'm afraid that this is a local internship program only here in the Philippines. However, the company did offer me an entry level job afterwards which could be a gateway to be accepted to their other establishments since this is an international scale company. Applying for a job abroad varies per nationality so I can't really tell you the procedures. It would be best if you would search for Visa requirements for any country you wish to work at. Aside from experience, there is also the educational attainment that you would have to consider. Some countries may not acknowledge your training since they have their own criteria (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, UK). It's either you would have to attend classes or be tenured in terms of years and position (executive or sous chef most probably).

Hello, I'm afraid I don't know what their email is for you to contact them for internship. Usually its the school and the companies who coordinates and directly communicates with each other. I just gave my letter of intent and resume to the school and from there they handled it themselves. Sorry couldn't help you with that.☹ It would be best to call and ask them for assistance.

Hi! I was actually considering Enderun and their Diploma in Pastry Arts! Curious lang hehe, cause i don't see the option ng 3 months na diploma sa website nila. It's only "certificate in professional pastry arts" and the "diploma in pastry arts". In your experience what was the difference ng 3 months vs the 6 months program? :D TYYY
@francescastillo37632 жыл бұрын
Hi there Allyson, I also get confused with their Courses. Back in my time, it was called a Diploma in Pastry Arts but now I think its called a Certificate Course. What I can tell you is that the 3 month program is more focused on skills development where it would benefit you in your career (I also graduated in their Culinary Arts Program that's why I studied further into this course). We also had a lecture once a week but we spent most of our days in the lab/ kitchen. I think the 6 month program is designed for those who seek to create their own business in the pastry industry, hence their is a Kitchen Management intergrated in the program. It's best to ask their office and schedule a tour so you can get a feel of what you're getting into. Either way, Chef Leti will guide you even after graduating, we still keep in touch with her. 😊

Is it possible to get internship, if we don't have degree in culinary arts coz I've degree in bcom
@francescastillo37632 жыл бұрын
Technically, internships are done to further develop the skills of a specific degree in my case, its either culinary or pastry arts. If you have a degree in business or commerce, it would be helpful to look for an internship in either finance, human resource, marketing or economics. That would entail office or clerical immersions. To answer your question, it would be difficult to get a culinary internship in your case since you have a different qualification. 😊

Hello there, I tried translating this since I only speak english or filipino. Not sure if you mean the career or training but for me it is easy to get into pastry if you really love what you're doing but it is difficult to stay if you are not motivated or if you can't handle the pressure of the responsibilities in the kitchen. 😊

@@sambrillantes7521 not sure about this kasi so far local and international internship pa lang na-experience ko and never sa mga barko. It helps na nag-aral ka pero yung iba minsan hindi na nag-culinary or pastry arts. @francescastillo37632 жыл бұрын
@@z...03 hello, hindi naman po required na may knowledge ka. Although, I already studied culinary arts and had a year of internship in the US prior to this. At least high school or senior high school graduate ang educational attainment. May progression naman po from basic, advance then superior program for the 3 month period that I was there. So it's perfectly fine if you don't have any background when it comes to cooking, it's just an advantage. The chefs and other instructors are there to teach and guide you with the assumption that you are a novice and willing to learn of course. Also, there is an optional internship afterwards so you can apply your skills and further develop it before you pursue a career or business in the pastry industry :)
