I loved Pat. He symbolized hope for the franchise and I'm glad he got to be on the team that got it done.

Those 2000s Phillies were so fun. Burrell, Howard, utley, Rollins, and abreu had pitchers saying hail Mary’s before their starts

My favorite player. Dude gave 30 hrs and 100 rbis every year and walked 100 times every year.

This guy was consistently insulted, booed, and criticized during his first 8 years as a Phillie. Winning a WS cured that, it seems, but Philadelphia should remember, we did not treat this man very well before 2008. I don't recall ever hearing as much as a peep out of Pat either, concerning all this. He took it on the chin and understood it was part of the game. Nothing but happy words from him when his career was over. The man is all class. He got to see the absolute worst of Phillies baseball rise all the way to the top.

Come on man I’m a long time Phillies fan… And if I remember one thing from the Jim Thome Chase Utley Jimmy Rollins Ryan Howard era… it’s that the fifth spot in the line up was for Pat the bum Burrell so expect a strike out but 1/20 times he might come thru😂

Lol I said that before watching they… hit the nail on the head

@@AB-jz1li hey come on the dude could crush the ball. He had over 25 home runs 5 years and over 85 rbis 7 times. Certainly no slouch at the plate. He must’ve taken your wife or daughter into one of the historic district bars’ bathrooms
@Johnny556712 жыл бұрын
@@AB-jz1li you sound like those stupid fans who booed him. He averaged 30 home runs and 90 rbis a year. Also walked 90 times a year. You wanna talk strikeouts and you bring up Ryan Howard who struck out 160 times a year. Not saying he was better but he was clutch and he was a great personality in the clubhouse and everyone loved him.

Never seen a hitter with such a massive hitch in his swing like Burrell. Watching him swing in person at Phillies games, it’s even more pronounced. It always looked like he was in pain on the field, too. Gotta compliment him on his work ethic. I can still recall getting to CBP during BP in 04,05,06, and 07 and every time, Burrell was working in left field on backtracking to the fence on fly balls and jumping catches at the wall as a coach would hit w/ a fungo bat from behind shortstop. Like Utley, he wasn’t the most naturally athletic nor talented player, they had to work in order to be successful, to remove that handicap. What a postseason he had in 08. Some huge home runs and the double.

@one night in bangkok yes, he wasn’t the fleetest of foot in left, kind of slow to field base hits, but his arm was pretty decent.
