Nah Pat has a good heart but he's a fool. He acts like Sam is the only bad guy, when all the rest of them are lazy assholes who will like shit on random radio DJs in Pennsylvania with 1000 listeners. That's what their fans want. Sam's a boring sociopath, but I don't begrudge him for trying to work his way up the ladder in life. It's a job. Pat talks as if it's all a big hangout and they're trying to make the best comedy they can.

It says a lot in the calibre of interns Sam hired for the show. They were all fodder to be abused. He would never hire anyone that he would viewed as competition. The amount he would manipulate people and situations shows a complete disconnect as a person.

It's weird to me how anyone could be surprised at the tales of Sam's underhandedness. His wealthy family had to pay for growth hormone injections when he was a kid, because he was a borderline midget, and not expected to make it past 5ft tall. It's like the back-story of a comic book villain. He's a bullied, stunted dwarf, in a gangly 6ft body. Sam openly boasted on the show, how he'd got with Jess, by befriending her boyfriend, and then undermining him at every opportunity, and never letting them have a moment alone. I wouldn't be surprised if he had video footage of Jess's Dad committing a murder, and the whole marriage is based on blackmail.
