I keep coming back to this interview. Pat, in my opinion, is second only to Lester. I found out about Pat’s death from a newspaper on a wet rainy day. I could barely believe what I was reading. I knew Pat enjoyed a drink but I think the sport kept that in check. Make no mistake, jockeys are probably the fittest athletes you can think of. Out of the saddle, life can become way too complicated.

I Loved Mr. P Eddery, Gawd Damn That Geezer got me outta some fuckin Disastrous Situations when I was on me Bollox... Got me into a Few scrapes as well, Da Mothafukker, however More often than Not he usually Delivered the Goods when the Benjamin's were Down - A Lovely Guy in person.. Shame about his Retirement and the Severe Pain the Fella had to live with and the "Remedies" he ended up Trying just to get Tru the Day - Can Still see some Slight Tells he carried over from his Dark Days, the Rubbing his Nose is a sure Sign of Codein/Morphine Use(PainKilling Tablets) Altho He always had that Habit of Rubbin his Nose from his early Days so cud be nothing.. Hope he managed to get on TOP of everything and live a Happy Life before his Passing - Whatta absolute Legend, sadly missed on the Racecourse and in Life.... RIP...

11 whip cracks in the home straight for grundy, major ban nowadays, alright if youve backed it, not so good if u backed the 2nd, as he only uses his whip 2 or 3 times. Jockey won that race, as they do many times still today
