We all just watched Mahomes on 1 leg. Complete passes to WRs 6th & 7th on the depth chart. 1 of which has more TACKLES then Receptions. To help take the Chiefs to the Superbowl.... Mahomes wouldve been able to make it work anywhere INCLUDING the Bears. Long story short... Bears f'd up

Growing up Bears were my 2nd favorite team. 85 Bears were the coolest MFr I had ever seen, even knew all the words to that damn Superbowl Shuffle. I was yelling at the TV "MAHOMES!" but I was sure that Pace was going to blow it and draft Trubisky. I saw the way he fawned over Jimmy Garoppolo and gushed about Garoppolo going to going to Eastern Illinois just like he did. Ppl put to much stock into the starting QB developing the backup. Mahomes benefited from Alex Smith but think about this… Aaron Rodgers benefitted from Brett Favre. Tom Brady benefited from Drew Bledsoe and so forth. At the end of the day, it’s up to the QB to perform. No amount of mentorship will guarantee success.

If Mahomes would've gotten drafted by the Bears he would've lead the league in interceptions that year with a losing record. It's so important where these players land coming from college. The Chiefs have a starting 1st year rookie DB backfield headed to the Superbowl. Mostly late round picks that was developed by Spags and Andy Reid.

Pre draft, i kept telling the bear fans mahomes should be the top pick in the whole draft. That they should pick him. I always looked at QBs because i always wanted my team to draft a round 1 QB. The problem was mahomes nfl comp pre draft was jay cutler, and bears fans could not get past it. I saw aaron rodgers without the snarky d-bagginess. They all wanted watson or trubisky, and i wasnt too high on either. I was wrong about watson. He did turn out good. So on draft day im expecting my team to take dalvin cook or mccaffrey, knowing 1 of them would be available. Then it happened. My chiefs traded up and picked him. To me, it was a huge surprise. I heard rumors but blew them off. He wasnt quite the player i expected. He was so much better. I expected him to go for 4500 and 35 tds in 2018. I underestimated him.

As a KC native and hometown girl we can only be grateful that destiny aligned so we got Mahomes . Don't beat yourselves up about it though because the Chiefs just happened to be the right team to develop and hone him into the superstar QB he has become. If he had been drafted by another team he might not have become the insanely great QB he is. It really was just the right team and player coming together at the right time to create a unstoppable force.

This narrative just tells me that you don’t know who Patrick Mahomes is. He’s been a baller his whole life. He’s been a 99 overall (to use a madden phrase) since high school. His thing was, he never had a competent defense until he got to the pros. Every game at every level since high school had to be a shootout if he wanted a chance to win the game. Some offenses could score one td and two fgs and win the game. No, he had to score tds every drive if he wanted a real chance to win games. If he had his offense rated 99, his defense would usually operate at a -99 overall rating. Give him a middling defense and that’s enough to get to the conference championship game. Give him a barely good defense and that’s enough to win the super bowl. Pair him up with Andy Reid and it’s no wonder he’s been this successful. It’s a match made in heaven. But he would’ve seen similar success anywhere as long as his defense wasn’t the worst defense of all time
