Money doesn't magically make him a better player. He was simply the best athlete in college football. Ridiculous to try and strip the award
@MrTussey914 жыл бұрын
The NCAA is extremely crooked. They make billions off the backs of these athletes that they penalize for accepting money or gifts when alot of them sustain serious injuries that prevent them from having a pro career and getting the money they earned. It's disgusting

Andrew Farley it cant be that obvious since it’s still a problem, and has been going on for decades. And if it is that obvious what does it say about us that we let it keep happening?
@rickyrobby81334 жыл бұрын
jk47joey the NCAA makes billions of dollars a year...that’s the billions we’re talking about. No one is talking about collegiate badminton, we’re talking about the multi billion dollar industry that is College Football. Imagine completely missing the point and writing an entirely irrelevant point while calling other people “idiots.” The irony is amazing.
@82robbiej4 жыл бұрын
Bobby Pinkston I completely agree but there has to be a punishment. It should have gone against USC and not Reggie. Matt was probably getting payed also.....what college doesn't do that? I'm an Auburn fan and I'm 100% convinced Cam Newton was payed!

A booster let Reggie's family stay in an apartment for free so they could be close by sometimes. Lots of families of means do stuff like this. I'm sure Rob Gronkowski and his brothers lived a more lavish lifestyle than Reggie in college, but it was with their family money so no one cares. I'm sure he turned down an insane amount of under the table money to try to do it right. NCAA a plantation.

these kids contribute more to society than you realize. That ticket sale goes back into the local economy, like local businesses get hired by the school for various things from catering to janitorial services. These kids sell tickets that creates cash flows that generates revenues, which generates taxes, which in turn becomes state funds that go back into social programs and infrastructure. So why shouldn't a college athlete get paid for doing all of that? Why should a college athlete make some kind of money for convincing an alumni half way across the country to fly in for a single homecoming game?

Of the Texas players who got on the field, 20 were drafted by the NFL. Several made it as undrafted free agents. 32 players from that 2005 Texas team made it to the NFL. Jamal Charles was the last to retire. Charles is the NFL ALL TIME leader in yards per carry for running backs with over 1,000 carries. He managed 5.4 yards per attempt which is better then Jim Brown, Gayle Sayers, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders and the rest.

One thing I wish they would do is to save the Heisman Trophy presentation until after the season is over. Bowl games are apart of the season and so is the National Championship game. Had they given out the Heisman after that National Title game the trophy would've gone to Vince Young anyway. But since they don't do that and Reggie Bush was voted to be the Heisman winner he deserved it and if he can't have it no one else should get it.
