Triple 4 That’s like saying all corners are bad because their job is to usually not let receivers get open. You’ll probably counter that with The defense has a lot of moving pieces, so does special teams, the snapper, the holder, and the kicker and all of the other obvious ones, so it is not always the kickers fault.

I noticed the laces facing toward Adam on the replay. First thing that came to mind from way back when I played intramural football. For a kick always set the laces pointing opposite of the kicker. You spin the ball if you have to quick ...boom boom set go. Man I learned that as a kid and a pro punter that is setting up another kicker blew it. Besides that going the wrong way I thought the coaching decisions were the poorest in this game. I know adjusting from Brissett to Hoyer was compounded by not already having TY Hilton on the field. The call to let Hoyer loose passing in tight coverage in the end zone IMHO was where the game was lost. I was furious. I said when the red zone plays started. 'Conservative just run the ball now' We can go up 13 at the half.' When Hoyer passed into coverage and got intercepted I lost it. I mean why! You knew this game was going to come down to a few points. You could not afford to jeopardize that lead which as it turned out would have been enough. This loss was on Reich or the Offensive Coach. You do not let any gun slinging over confidence on the part of a backup QB sink you.

I've been a Colts fan all of my life and I don't think we're okay right now. There are several teams that are close to taking over those wild card spots and 3 of them have beaten the Colts in head to head match ups (Steelers Raiders and Chargers). At this point it's win the division or watch the playoffs from home. The difference in both the Chargers game and Steelers game was Vinny;'s poor performances. Not just with field goals but he can't even hit extra points. These problems aren't new. Look at how bad he was at the end of last season. Watch the KC playoff game. The Colts keep coddling his balls at the detriment of the entire team and fan base. One guy's legacy (going down in flames) protected by a team willing to let their season go to shit. I love the general management (Ballard is a genius) and coaching (Reich is smart and has guts) but the decision to give up a season to hold on to a failing player is fucked up.

Vinatieri's had an amazing career. He's been dependable as a kicker really up to this season. I think age is starting to catch up to him. It happens to us all. I'm predicting he'll hang it up at the end of the season. He'll be in the Hall of Fame regardless of how the rest of this season turns out.
@venomf03 жыл бұрын
Pat explained that really well.
@Crazyjedi24 жыл бұрын
If the holder receives the ball with laces toward the kicker don’t spin it 180 degrees so they’re facing away from the kicker to the line again just spin it 90 degrees aka a quarter turn that way they’re still not directly facing the kickers foot but not as hard to do a full half turn.

The Dolphins also almost won their last 3 games. They had a 14-9 lead in the 3rd against my Bills team, and imploded at the last second. (Thank you TreDavious White for making that INT at the Bills’ 2). Then they had a great 1st Quarter against the Steelers, and then somehow just fell apart. And then they embarrassed the Jets yesterday and actually won. (They screwed their front office’s plan though. 😎. Best case scenario right now for the Dolphins Front Office is the #3 Pick, NOT the “coveted” #1 Pick that the Dolphins’ brass DESPERATELY wanted. 😆

100 disagree. Maybe in college because there are rules preventing defenders jamming centers right after he snaps it, but that rule isn't in the nfl. It's his job to put it on target and block. It's all on the holder to rotate the ball. Pat's a punter clearly.

1.25 seconds - snap, catch, get ball down, -correcting if the time is there, kick happens - 1.25 seconds that’s faster than Elite QB’s get rid of the ball, where 2.3 seconds from center to QB releasing ball is remarkable. Pat McAfee, thank you for the explanation, I enjoy learning about the kicking game, the broadcasters rarely talk about much less SHOW us the details - the ball deforming, compressing - they always pull the camera view to follow the flight of the ball. RRR. Would you please do a video showing the differences when the foot hits the ball during a kick? Even using the practice kicking tripod and kicking shoe. This would be most cool . Thank you.
