I actually really like the face and eye palettes..... the one with the green shimmers is sooooo beautiful and I'd actually wear both blushes. I think it makes sense to release these and then just shadow palettes and just face palettes, gives something for everyone.

Indie has caught up and surpassed her sparkly shades by miles at this point. That said a lot of people are skeptical of purchasing indie. Pat's formulas, even in the mothership palettes that have 4 special shades, are eclipsed by other brands now. It's sad to see how basic her brand became.

I wish there were a bundle with one Quint, one face palette and one mascara. That would make a lot of sense to me physically and I think a lot of people would appreciate a slight discount on all three items with a choice on which palettes and mascaras. I bought the 18 pan holiday palette and I ended up rehoming it because it was just too warm for my skin tone. I don’t typically get along with these incredibly sparkly chunky glitter shades because I have mature skin. Natasha Donnell‘s formula is far more hospital bills to my nature islands even when she has sparkly shades.

I was thinking of treating myself to my first Pat palette this holiday collection if I liked the colour story and I didn't expect to have so many options! I love the colours in the larger dark palette but I'm not a blush girlie so I'm glad that there's also the quints - though wish one had the same vibes as the large dark one. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the quality of the quints Patty, it'll definitely be what helps me decide whether I get them or not because they won't be in a store anywhere around me to swatch myself

I haven’t bought from pat in over 2 years, in my opinion, her line is boring. The only palettes I use to like were the holiday, not this. Cheap packaging, always using pinks , browns , golds. If u look at those 2 palettes, it’s recycled colors that she used before, she added a purple and a green, which were in the previous holiday palettes. So not only your getting cheap palettes, less shadows and recycled colors, an old blush for $76, it’s a pass. The quints are boring too.

@@anh7807 I have not been impressed by one single Pat McGrath release this year, Natasha Denona's new I need a nude midi palette is the most exciting palette release this year, followed by her mini starlette palette. At least Natasha Denona takes risks and releases a variety of colors all the time. My last four Pat Mcgrath Motherships look pretty much the same and her Holiday is where you got a little variety, but not this year. I am out on Pat McGrath until something changes.

If you divide the cost of her 18 pan palette from last year, which originally retailed at $82, the cost for 9 pans is $41. Her blush retails for $36. The new palettes for this year’s holiday release cost is $76. If she had just put each 9 pan shadows from both palettes as an 18 pan eyeshadow palette like she has in the past, she would have reduced the cost of the palette from $82 to $76. So from a retail cost standpoint the cost of these two palettes would be $113 for 9 eyeshadows and 2 blushes. $76 is a steal and even more of a steal with a 10% discount at $68. Her 18 pan palette from last year was deeply discounted after the holidays. I think I saw it on Sephora for $50 as recently as 2 months ago but I could be mistaken about the timing. I didn’t buy last year’s holiday palette because I didn’t like the color story. I like this year’s color stories much better. And while I agree that I would have liked to see both 9 pans included as an 18 pan palette (because I’m not interested in the blushes because of repeat shades) I’ll probably get more use out of 9 pans than 18. I wish she had released the 2 new blush shades as singles. Pat was probably also taking a cue from Natasha Denona by creating an eyeshadow and cheek palette combined. I’m probably going to wait to see what Natasha releases for the holidays before I decide.

$76 isn't a steal. The McGrath empire didn't become a billion dollar empire by undercharging. If the quality was kept at PmG standards, $76 may be fair for consumers who like the color stories and don't already have many PMG products, but it's not inexpensive. The price of a blush in a cardboard face palette isn't comparable to an individual blush in a hard component. And no palette is a bargain, gram for gram, unless we use almost all the colors in the palette. And the bundles, wow, the brand investors are subliminally suggesting that $400 for color powders is a good purchase decision. For my purposes, each of the face palettes and some of the coin quints would be more useful if they more balance between light, medium and deep toned eyeshadows. And I agree that the new blush shades would've been more appealing as singles.

I feel like this is a pretty collection but, I agree. There is a subset of customers that, she has alienated, who love these shadows but probably only buy the holiday palette because they get more bang for their buck. They run the risk that these customers end up skipping the launch all together. Collectors and die hards seem to buy regardless. Hopefully that makes sense.

I’m interested in the cheek pallet but I do not care for the packaging. I don’t mind the cardboard but the diamond s and bows no TY. However, the collection is beautiful! I like the variation she’s offering, greens, blue,teals! So much for listening to consumers right? Right. I’m glad the blushes are new! So she’s added 6 new blushes! I personally love her blush formula! I think the eye and check pallet is a good value. I’m tempted to try the mascara. A little disappointed the bronzer isn’t in the deepest shade but you cannot make EVERYONE happy. Its a good! Beautiful, solid collection. Can wait to see your review.

I am so excited! I bought only the quints last year and loved them. Now I might buy 3 quints and 1-2 face palettes (for the new blushes and highlights!). BUT really - I am getting tired of all the Pat bashing. Okay, we get it, you don’t care for the line anymore or never did. So move on and allow us to enjoy without all the acrimony! Once you go down the PML rabbit hole, experience the original peak motherships it’s only ever going to be downhill after that. To me my personal all time most special palettes are PML. I also love the foundation, blushes, powder, kohl pencil, lipliners, glosses and lipsticks. So overall it is probably my favourite brand. The Christmas cardboard stuff is not for me. So many makeup brands have a lots of misses.

I really like the look of the bijoux brilliance eyeshadows but not sure I care about having 2 blushes in the palette. Maybe either just the 9 shadows for half the price or include bronzer, blush and highlight for an all in one palette.

Thank you for nice video! I´m too confused about the change in the palette format. I didn´t buy any of the previous 18 pans palettes, because I didn´t see myself using all of the bold shadows. (I still think I missed on the one with green shadow - it was probably 2 years ago.) So I am not mad on the smaller palette, mainly with the two interesting greens again. I would even understand the pricing in comparison with another luxury brands. But I am hesitant about the blushes in the palette. Not so much that they are there, but that I know the PMG blushes are very pigmented and quite hard to work with in the morning rush to the work. First I was OK with the blushes because I mistakenly thought that Nymphette is the lightest one, which I wanted to try. But that is actually Fleurtatious and Nymphette is darker. And there are straight away two blushes in the palette. (Although I rather have there two blushes than I would bronzer - which I don´t use - or highligher - which I have too many.) But if it is available, I probably will buy the palette with greens. And maybe the turquise quint.

Thanks for showing us her new holiday collection. The only thing that peaks my interest would be the trio of blush or, highlighter, and bronzer. The rest of the shadows I think are very predictable and not worth purchasing. I have seven of her pallets already and I can get the same looks with my pallets. I really don’t like the cardboard packaging she uses, I think it makes her products look cheap. For the high price point she could give us some kind of nice plastic like Patrick Todd does or maybe even a smaller version of her mothership pallets would be nice. It just looks tacky. As for the mascara‘s, I love colored mascara‘s but I use them only on my bottom eyelashes. That way it doesn’t look too weird and it adds a nice pop of color to the eye.

Yeah pretty disappointing about only getting 9 eyeshadows and 2 blushes but I'm going to to get the big palette bundle and a 2 palette bundle of the quint's I guess... I still haven't bought a quint from Pat so I really want to this year lol might even get the middle blush trio I thought 2 bronzers when they first launched and the lightest share works best but I think something a bit deeper will work nice too for summer!! I think Pat’s Color stories have been rather repetitive of late being either fair/light or medium/deep versions of the same colors. I do like the idea of the moonlit seduction palette alongside the first mothership palette and I may buy both of those if they’re on sale. Otherwise I don’t find $129 to be a good place to put into one make up item.

I like the color stories she's come out with for this Holiday release. I've come into terms that Pat will always be pink and neutrals- it's her brand and her mark. Essentially, that's who she is. Also, she's an artist who does makeup for the runaway who is known for these sort of looks. Therefore, I don't see her truly steering from that, it's quite obvious she's, and/or her team, are stubborn in that sense. I think that for her standards, she's playing with color in her comfort zone. Yeah, I'd personally love to see more color in general, but what can we do? There are many indie brands that are high quality that make color for us. Yes the luxury experience is what we crave, but I truly think eventually a brand will come to fill that hole since Pat is barely doing it. Edit: I already know what I'm going to be getting. A few quints, a bigger palette, and maybe a face palette.

I wouldn't know, I'm not psychic. But we also don't know anything, or what's going through her head, let alone knowing how much say she now has over her own brand. Maybe that was enough color for her? Maybe she lost the passion? Maybe she isn't as involved? Maybe the pink and neutrals are more mainstream, and bring in more sales (esp. if people are going to buy at that price point)? We just don't know. But that's not the point of what I'm saying. I know the way I typed it reads as I'm trying to understand why Pat Mcgrath is pink, but I'm trying to rationalize it so I get over it and don't have an expectation anymore.
