Yes, just got Divine Rose for 40% at PMG’s Memorial Day sale; Mel’s video popped up on my timeline after I searched for tutorials on the palette a few days ago. She really had the best videos 😪 miss her so much.

The crazy collector in me was definitely disappointed that I had half of the shades in the palette already. I do think this palette is exquisite for those who do not have the collection and lead a more wearable makeup lifestyle. Regardless, this palette is STUNNING and though i was not initially impressed, it will most likely become one of my most used. Great review Mel!

I'm still a bit mad about the repeat shades and this whole very limited quantities hype, makes me not wanna buy it :/ they know this one would be a best seller, is it really possible stock is going to be so limited? I doubt it. Either way, Velouria is everything but I keep going back to Viseart AMETHYST #2 from the Theory palette. Can anyone confirm AMETHYST #2 is a good dupe for Velouria? I've tried it months ago and the temptalia swatch is patchy but I remember it being extra creamy and wonderful.

I love this palette and this is one of the few times I could really see myself splurging on Pat McGrath...but this ‘marketing strategy’ (if you can even call it that) is making me angry. Like, stop being vague and stop practically making us beg you to hand you $120 🙄

Amen! Her IG marketing strategy has me so angry I never want to buy anything from her again. That said, I’m dying for this palette because it’s so wearable. But I really object to the way these beauty companies are treating us. Charlotte Tilbury is a Huge offender. That “you can only get this palette for one day” strategy, which wasn’t even real, was an insult to the intelligence of all of her customers. Enough is enough.

I rescheduled and waited by my computer because I thought it might be Limited Release and I didn’t want to miss the launch. I was shocked and infuriated when I saw her IG “announcement”. It was the end of my patience with these Diva Makeup artists. I’ve spent so much money on this stuff and I’m done chasing the Next New Thing. Plus I keep giving away great new or almost new makeup, including designer palettes because I have so much. In addition their prices have gone up so much that we could buy jewelry, great clothes, even a better car for what these things cost. It’s madness.

Welshwitch It’s been a long time since I took a business class, but I believe this strategy is called creating pandemonium. Personally I don’t understand making it highly limited (limited edition I get, but not making it in such small quantities)...you’re essentially limiting the amount of sales you’ll make and opening the market for people to re-sell it at super high prices. I personally don’t have time for these games. If I get it, I get it. If not, oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️

My theory is that Pat is waiting for the VIB sale to end before she releases it. Also, maybe there is an issue of available stock. She may be trying to buy enough time to replenish stock before making the official US release. I have been stalking her Insta and website though, I also downloaded the Selfridges app the other day as a backup😄

I'll be passing on this palette, I feel like there's too much back and forward, too much drama around it. I wanted it really badly at first, but the hype has kind of died on me waiting on it and upon a closer look I don't feel the shades are particularly unique. I got the little rose quad and I can combine that with her other mothership palettes I have and more. Thanks for the review, it really helped me decide.

I think this palette is beautiful and I’m very interested in getting it. However, that being said, I’m very frustrated with how Pat McGrath released this palette. Just be transparent about if it’s getting released everywhere or not. It feels like they are purposely trying to build hype and fomo. I’m not a fan of the tactics. Just my opinion. I bought this palette the day after it was launched. I was in Selfridges and knew nothing about it but I went over the the pm counter and saw it. I fell in live with it immediately. It's so stunning and I've been wearing it to work. It it so easy to work with. I don't usually do make impulse buts, and certainly not for items in the price range but I regret nothing!

I totally agree. MS I is the coolest-toned palette of all the MSs, but even that one has gold, etc. I would love a 100% cool-toned PML MS palette. I keep on ALMOST buying MS1, but I know I'll get minimal use out of the gold & cobalt shades. For a 10-pan palette & PML pricing, I want to know I'll actually use EVERY shade. So many of her palettes have multiple individual shades I ADORE...but there's ALWAYS a copper &/or gold thrown in, that I know I'll never touch. I would love if she had a "make your own Mothership" option, where you could pick whichever 10 shades you want from her archive. Even if it cost more to customize, I'd pay it.

Mel I got to thank you because I purchased the Surratt Dew Drop foundation and absolutely love it (not the price for amount of product you get), but it’s amazing and didn’t think I would find a shade to match my skin tone but thanks to amazing sales clerk at Barney’s New York who took swatches and sent a pic after giving her some of my other foundation shades. You are stunning I just had to say. I found your channel searching for reviews for her Highlighter Trio and purchased it with input from your review. It is actually the only thing I have from her. Her items are definitely a splurge but it's for my 1st mothers day with my 4 month old. If I ever get a chance to get this palette I will but its too much for my purse atm. Colour selection wise it reminds me of the Soft Glam by ABH. But also the Platinum Bronze from Pat has quite similar shades.

This is a gorgeous palette but her marketing strategy is SUCH a turnoff. It’s being released in random places (Sephora Australia and Thailand got it too) and her instagram page has references to a secret location in NY. Seriously? With the holidays coming up and the really high price point, it’s actually insulting in my opinion to expect people to go on a scavenger hunt for the honour of handing PM their money. No matter how it plays out, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Either it really is that super exclusive and they’re making it next to impossible for anyone to get their hands on it (which is awful, as they had to know there would be widespread interest) or they’re lying and it will be in wide release soon. I planned for this to be my first PM splurge because of its neutral wearability but I’m not about to stalk websites and social media every day for “clues” on where it might pop up next.

Couldn't agree more. I feel ridiculous BEGGING to give a brand $120 and I feel like we are being played. It's beyond ridiculous and I'm kind of ticked about the whole thing. They led everyone to believe they were launching, many stayed up for hours, It took up 4 hours of my morning waiting for it to launch and JK, we are doing a secret meet up in NYC. It’s a Selfridges and Sephora Asia-Pacific region exclusive palette. It’s gonna be an EXTREMELY limited release on the Pat McGrath website within the next week or two. I’m not sure if it will be coming to Sephora US and Canada. Also it’s the seventh installment in the Mothership series. Mothership VII. They just forgot to put the VII on the packaging.

I'm pretty sure "exclusive" always means "regional exclusive". Ie, in the UK you could only get it on Selfridges. In Australia, you could only get it on Sephora Australia, etc. Great review! Hopefully they'll stop the games and release it in the US soon.

Bought this the other day a couple hours after she launched it I couldn’t help it lol I just hope it ships in a decent time frame!! And I am not waiting a month on it... I have almost all her palettes except 2 big ones the mothership 2 & 3 lol but her matte shades are kinda hard for me to work with and blend is why I don’t reach for her palettes often but I still adore her eyeshadow! Gorgeous look as usual. But very dupable for you since, as you stated, you already have multiples of all the colours except the mauvey taupe (velouria?). For me, this is the perfect palette. Every single shade is usable. I have the Selfridges app, I am on PML's IG and email list, and I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to get my hands on this palette. PML has been cryptic and downright misleading about the release date, but I would trade all my MOTHERSHIP and MTHRSHP palettes for this one. Fingers crossed.

This palette looks gorgeous, although I think I do have most of the shades in my collection. Having said that, it doesn’t really have the wow factor that I felt, for example, when the Mothership V came out. Also, I cannot stand the marketing strategy. I’m on the mailing list and got a message saying “Prepare to PANIC!!!” or something similar. It’s an eyeshadow palette, for goodness’ sake. Getting people worked up into a frenzy about expensive eyeshadow is just consumerism at its worst IMO. Having said that, the look you did is gorgeous ❤️. I randomly woke up and bought it at 2am from Sephora Australia and the next day it was sold out... So, I would definitely say it is going to be available elsewhere very soon.
