I wasn’t expecting a rainbow - that’s not Pat’s vibe. But I was expecting something a bit more creative and different from the last two Motherships. I own all of her other Motherships. This is the first one I have no interest in owning. If I do eventually get it it will be when she has one of her big sales. I do however want that mixing medium pen. But I will always watch your Pat reviews and comparisons Alicia!

Color story wise, Mothership IX feels so much more like a full version of Fleur Fantasy than either of the Divine Rose Motherships. It’s a fairy palette, not a rose.

Does anyone think that Divine Rose is rounding out as a Trilogy? Hopefully… And one way to look at it may be: one DR may work better for a range of skin tones, aesthetic, etc. while DR2 is brighter and appeals to xyz. It would make more sense that way to me I guess. I also think the inspiration teasers and palettes may tend to be around the special shades. P.S. Was going to wait for bigger sale, but when the release email came out, I Went ahead and got it because I’m apparently a collector now. So excited to see your video so soon!!

Thanks for the video. The intensifying stick makes everything pretty holographic, in my opinion, in line with her inspo photos. There was pink everywhere in those photos, we had to know. It's a beautiful palette, but still too close to Divine Rose 2 for me to buy. I don't own all of her motherships and would rather get a different one, since I own DR2. However, Pat keeps putting beauty into the world, and that is something not many can do. I love how out of the ordinary Pat's shadows are, but it is true that everybody is always bothered by something with her shadows. Some people don't like her mattes (What the hell!) because they are too pigmented. No matter that they blend like a dream and you can create a soft look without effort if you wish. Everybody always makes a point about the price of her palettes, while they aren't much more expensive than many on the market, and certainly more affordable compared to a Tom Ford quad or whatever. Not counting the amazing sales Pat does. If it's too "out there" it's not an everyday palette, if it's too ordinary, it is too much of an everyday palette. It's like she can't win. Nobody cried when Natasha Denona released the Zendo palette, which is half Sunset palette and half Gold palette. And Denona doesn't even come close to Pat, in my opinion. Somehow, now Pat is a "NO NO" for most youtubers (and people). Sorry for the rant, I just love the artistry of Pat and feel she deserves more love.

It's the very fact that they're so pigmented that makes us melanated ladies love her work so much, because Mother (being a black woman herself) *understands* the need for pigment. Period. I don't want to hear anyone say a thing about how pigmented they are until they call out Natasha for making half the shades in most of her palettes colours that would be ashy on anyone darker than Alicia. Mother has been consistently delivering something so pigmented that darker people can use, but also so blendable that a vampire could get away with it. For the formula and the shades and the ingenuity, she's not charging us enough money quite frankly, and anyone who wants to speak down on her can kick rocks, because who else would give us what we needed in the way?

I would love to see you swatch and play with some of the newer Terra Moons iridescent and grey based multichromes; not just as a comparison to the PML triochromes, but because they’re excellent single transformative shades that fill a different area of the “makeup space”. Other indie brands do similar shadows as well, but I haven’t tried them so I can’t personally speak to their quality. JD Glow galaxy shadows might also be fun for you to try too! I think it might be helpful to present some additional options for those looking to capture something reminiscent of the “PML magic shades” to those who can’t afford the full Pat Mothership experience. Love your content and excited to see Huetopian Dream in action. You’re eye looks are killer as always!

I think this palette is perfect for those that don’t own the two divine rose motherships or are collectors. Pat has two camps: those that want wearable and those like me who also like to look like a unicorn threw up on our eyes occasionally. The palette is beautiful on its own. But it's hard to justify the cost when half of the shades can be duped by combining rose I & II. It goes to show that Pat is focusing on attracting new clients instead of surprising existing ones. The color combos of her earlier mothership pallets were creative yet coherent, always a pleasant surprise. This palette may be where I stop being a pmg collector.

Now that I've calmed down and watched the video lol I want to say great job showing what the palette can do. This is the first time I've held off buying a Pat palette and I'm not quite sure if I will end up with this but if I do it'll be at a sale price. The shades are gorgeous but most of them aren't what I need right now. On top of that I'm not really going anywhere and getting dolled up. I do wish that Shockwave, Venusian Orchid and Astral Amethyst Moon were in a quad because I actually would snatch that up. The most exciting part of this launch to me is that stick because I was just about to buy more NYX glitter glue but this is even better.

I was originally considering passing on this, but your swatches make me realize it’s actually everything I wanted divine rose 1 to be since it actually pulls a little to gray on my pale skin. And I love divine rose 2, but it’s not very pink on me (sextraterrestrial actually loses its duochrome on me and just looks dark and muddy). Actually really looking forward to this palette now despite being originally disappointed that the advertised concept was so deceptive. You are so beautiful and I just love your personality! ❤️

Same here, Kelly! I’m also very fair and haven’t been able to put my finger on why DRI and DRII were just a little off… your description is spot on! DRI pulls a little grey, and DRII can be a bit muddy! They are both *stunning* but where I’m very fair, there was something just a bit off! I wasn’t going to get this palette, but it’s now in my cart!

Interesting that you say that about the DRII duo chrome. I am medium deep (darker than Alicia) and my first impression was the same. Didn't seem to work on my skintone. Seemed muddy. I have a much better appreciation for the palette, especially the coppery rose tones, but I was underwhelmed at first until I did my first real look which didn't really emphasize the duo chrome anyways.

This color story is so beautiful and works perfectly with your skin tone. I have fair skin and I used to be scared to buy her palettes because I thought they would be too deep for me, but since buying them I’ve learned that the shadows are actually buildable and I can sheer them out to be softer on me. Just the versatility and quality, Pat is. Legend. Can’t wait to get this palette :))

I can’t quite bring myself to pay full price for a Mothership and i’m gearing up for fall so I’m going to complete my Mothership collection with Sublime 2 first and then grab this one on sale next Spring as I see it as more of a spring summer colour story ❤️ I would love to see a different colour story from Pat for Mothership 10. Maybe she will go all out for her 10th mothership 👀 Lovely review Alicia, thank you, I love how much you love the release ❤️❤️❤️

I'm definitely getting this. I own all motherships except both divine palettes and decadence bc I wasn't interested in those color stories but this, this is the best version of divine rose/midnight sun inspo I've seen so far.

I have a lot in mind lol This one is more wearable than bronze seduction which is considered the highest ranked for more people! Again no matter what the shades are with pat, less intensity will make them wearable! In my mind, with pat it’s all about the whhhhooole experience and being creative playing with all of these, i always say we shouldn’t look at hers from a consumer perspective! Added to cart 😂💕

The only thing I’m a bit disappointed about is how much sextreme reminds me of the one in Divine Rose 2. I guess I’ll have to wait so I can swatch them for myself to see how close they are.
