Another thing about Pat and those around him...Lyle, Pedro, Steve and all the others. Beyond the superlative musicianship there is the transcendent ability of their music to uplift. For those oppressed, on the short end of advantage, or merely the many just having a bad day, this music will renew hope if the opportunity is there to listen.

... Good day Marcelo, You can really hear the influence of the Brasilian years on Pat Metheny in this clip; I myself also lived for years in that part of the world, ending up in less musically colourful Europe (lol) ... I saw Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays many times over the years, starting with a concert in 1975 in Holland with the then only 21 years old Pat Metheny as a member of the also great vibraphonist Gary Burton when PMG didn't even exist yet and the late Lyle Mays not present yet too (lol) ... great times the 70's with lots of new sounds emerging then .... thanking you for this always great sounding PMG music ... take care , Jan-W

And with this music by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays my fascination with this group (Pat Metheny Group) began in the 90s. After 28 years on the album that I acquired (The Road To You) and where this composition appears (Beat 70), the music remains, for me, with the same interest in listening. Willingness to hit at least with your foot :)! From then on, I started to buy and listen to all the group's CD's, I went to 3 of the 4 shows of the group in Lisbon. Of the 3, in the Coliseu dos Recreios, I saw only two, and I saw one in the Magna class at the University of Lisbon. Great band, great music, great compositions .... Thanks to Pat Metheny Group and my ex-colleague Julien Simas who let me know! Whoever wants some indication of the jazz and fusion band, ask me, because I know practically everything!
