Pat delivers both joy and pathos in his many beautiful compositions. I am a huge fan. But the experience of both is only enhanced by their fleeting nature, isn't it? These beautiful songs point us to hope in the Transcendent.

For me it reminds me of the era when it was released; Didn't realize it at the time, but it turned out to be the last of the really good times in San Francisco. Thank you for a lifetime of excellent music and education. KJAZ 92.7 FM R.I.P. 1959-1994

Never talked about it .But I played this song non- stop in immediate days after Sept 9/11 after seeing faces of people who did not make it out of twin towers. I saw those fateful events from my downtown NY offices and I had even worked on South Tower 104th floor back in 1986. Maybe the last wishes of those people could be the message in this song to say "Tell Her/Him You Saw Me". Mournfully beautiful song and way to respectfully remember that day.

I watch a lot of clips of many different artists. Whenever, really without fail, I'm on Metheny's, the love just oozes from the comments, giving the entire environment such an unusual and ethereal feeling. Remarkable! Not long ago I was writing a short love story while playing Metheny for inspiration (took a few hours). Now when I read it again, I can see him shine through it, all the way. What a choice I made. :)

I've tried twice in a row to reflect the beauty of this song and album. Both other times my inputs timed out and I lost the content that I tried to share. PM is the BEST & this is my favorite song from my favorite album from my favorite musician. PERIOD...

This song gives me impression of the moment that forest is trying to kiss wet lips of atmosphere during moonlight waiting for the morning sunshine to say I love you.

I saw Pat live last night. Of course, the entire show was awesome. But, when he played this song tears began streaming down my face uncontrollably. This piece is so beautiful, hauntingly beautiful.

Isn't he doing his trio thing the past year or two? How did he play this one? Very challenging to play it with a trio I'd imagine.

Michael Park Hey! I saw him 2 years ago with the trio, The Unity Group. If I remember correctly, the show in question was Antonio Sanchez on drums, but also a female bassist (who was amazing), a pianist...you are right...it was stripped down but an amazing feat!

Thank you for posting this whole cd. I listen to it all the time. You can almost hear dialog in your imagination while this piece is playing. A conversation among friends about a former love.

I see this post 9 years later and I want to dance this conversation you are describing. In my heart it is with my daughter whom I had at 40 years old and thus do not have as many years together. No time to lose and no regrets, life is bittersweet and always, for humans, includes unavoidable loss.

My wife and I love to play this. We also used it as background music for our Alaska cruise. There are six parts to the cruise video so we used six PMG songs. They all just seemed to fit. Check them out.

As it combines a guitar with an orchestra! You can feel the scream!
