Loved how she asked her assistant coaches for advice during this.
@LucidDream5 жыл бұрын
She also asked her players what they saw too. She understood communication was key for everyone to be engaged. It's a group effort, everybody gets to contribute.

That’s how coaching is done. She can’t do it alone. Both assistants had great advice

A legend that did not yell, went through her notes, included her coaches, let her players speak and said exactly what needed to happen...great stuff.

I love the respect that she has for her players. She talks with them not AT them. Inspires with knowledge and confidence and holding them to a higher potential - on and off the court.
@colleenksa22669 жыл бұрын
This woman, in my opinion, was the one of the most if not THE most influential coaches in women's basketball. I find it disgraceful and despicable that they won't even allow her to sit court side to home games. Her presence, dedication, and respect dominated the game and she will always be a legend. Go Lady Vols!!!
@Angus_Gibson9 жыл бұрын
Colleen Slapadoda I think that even if she could sit court-side, I don't think she would. She would say it's Holly's team. It's time for me to step back during the games and be a fan.
@colleenksa22669 жыл бұрын
Angus Gibson Being the classy woman she is, she probably would and I give props to Holly for getting as far as she did this season.
@dandandkl90482 ай бұрын
She is the antithesis of Geno A. In UCONN! She’s all class, respect, charisma and team! He is always about let’s get the best players and let’s beat the other side by 100 points! No class, no respect and no accountability! Thank God I was able to follow the Lady Vols she coached .

When I was younger and started watching women's basketball I remember cheering on the huskies for 1 game. The next game I started watching and they were playing Tennesse. By the end of the game I was a Lady Vols fan for life. Not for the players but for that coach. I had never seen a coach like her and from then on. I strive to watch every game. I still do to this day and every game I remember that first game I ever watched and the time I met her and got her autograph. By far the greatest coach in the game on and off the court. Miss you pat summit RIP

Applies to just about anything but I love that bit: "This is a chance of a lifetime. You can't be afraid to go out and compete and do whatever it takes.". That's a warrior mentality right there.

Candace Parker, you BETTER!!! Gotta love her. I grew up in Seattle and didn’t have much of a chance to learn how amazing this woman was. Last week I was visiting Knoxville and went to the Women’s Basketball HOF and saw her statue on the UT campus. Next week I’m going to be in Clarksville and am going to see her gravesite and memorial. I’ve been watching numerous videos of her and keep thinking I wish I could’ve met her. What a woman. 🧡🏀
