That was the BEST version of this CLASSIC Song and Dance that I've ever seen in my ADULT life !👍 I was only around 12 or 13 years old when my Mother introduced me to this song AND showed me the Native Dance Routine , as well. Man I'm now 66 years old 🤔.... and still ready to move and groove to it now.... 😎 Let's GO ! 🤸‍♂️ 😂

The pata pata dance was a dance where the men crouched nearly kneeling in front of their women. they would be gently patted down pata pata means touch touch by the women lovingly while they danced around the men in the distinctive swiveling hip pata pata step the men would return these caresses, as they rose in place.After Miriam Makeba was exiled for questioning apartheid, the dance became more militant. the pats became pat downs . the entire group of dancers was surge forward while still joyously swaying and swirling.This revolutionary mode of dancing was outlawed and dances were actually broken up violently by the forces of apartheid!.Wimowe was an ancient sowing song the farmers and planters used to sing. adding the lion sleeps tonight to either song subverts the beautiful intentions of life affirming original tunes.I hate the lion sleeps tonight it is immortalizing cultural oppression. I hope this choir are merely ignorant that they are promoting white supremacy.
