Arrange the potato chops on the tray, and bake at 180C (350F) for 15 - 18 minutes on each side. Then bake for 5 minutes more with just the oven's top heating element on or using the grill function to brown just the top. (if you want, you could flip the potato chops and grill the other side to brown it too.)

Hi Veena. I watched this video this morning. I will try your method. Nice trick of leaving it in the fridge for a few minutes and also adding a spoon of water in the egg for good results. Lovely. Rolling it first with maida is another trick and finally with rawa. I appreciate your recipe and good work. 👍👍

I don't let the whistles go off, Annie, whenever I use my pressure cooker. After the first whistle, I reduce the heat. Anyway, for this recipe, once the first whistle goes off, lower the heat and let the pressure cooker keep cooking the potatoes inside. The cooker will keep hissing, but the whistles won't go off. Even after you reduce the heat, pressure will still be maintained inside the cooker. Then 10 -11 minutes after lowering the heat, turn off the heat and let the cooker pressure come down naturally. Hope I've answered your question, Annie.

No, Shirish. Also, poppy seeds are too costly to use for an outer coating. (They're usually used for adding richness to mughlai curries, kormas, etc.) Breadcrumbs or rava is what you should use.

Yes, Sushma. Prepare the mince, and shape the potato chops the previous day. Once you finish rolling the potato chops with rava/breadcrumbs, arrange them on a tray or plate, cover this with foil and keep it in the fridge till you're ready to fry them the next day.

@@cajetanfernandes4191 You have to rinse it out with water 2 or 3 times, Cajetan, squeezing it lightly in between, till the water does not have too much blood in it. Also check the mince you bought for tiny pieces of bone. Then drain the mince on a sieve for around 10 -15 minutes.

Clara, I have mentioned in the video that I have boiled and peeled the potatoes. If I had to show the boiling of the potatoes followed by the peeling it would unnecessarily increase the length and time of the video. All the essential steps in the recipe however are included in the video.
