Patagonia Frozen Range Parka Review - Worth it?

I had scoured the web for reviews and really there is just yours and the outdoor gear labs review, and when it comes to videos... just yours! Yeah same. Just the outdoor gear labs and this video is all there is still one year later. How have you liked the jacket? I know this comment is old but just ordered mine for 2022-2023 winter. Has it been as warm as advertised by Patagonia?

@@andyham6094 I've now worn it for two seasons and here are my thoughts: Style: I love the way this coat looks and feels.. the high collar and length are perfect and when you do it all the way up it looks serious and truly blocks out the elements from your face. I was surprised I have recieved almost no comments by anyone on the coat (compliments) but I enjoy it regardless. Warmth: I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada and it reaches -40*c here. I've had no issues staying warm with this coat and don't really have to think about layering too much. Design: The one thing missing from this coat is a powder skirt or some sort of internal elastic synch at the waist. When the wind is blowing you can feel it coming up from the bottom for sure, but if you are wearing a top underneath that has an elastic waist, or have your undershirt tucked in you don't really feel anything. It's not a deal breaker. The front pockets would benefit from being behind the down layer and not on top (back of hands are against fabric and can get cold if you are not wearing gloves). I usually wear fingerless knit gloves at all times so this is also not an issue for me. I havent' found that this jacket sheds any more/less down than any other down parka I have owned. You for sure get the odd small partical/fluff stuck to your shirt after you take it off, but I think honestly that's unavoidable. Durability: I've worn this coat for a number of activities and haven't had any failures in stitching, material, or otherwise. It is VERY high quality to my eyes and I have yet to see any coat on anyone else that has me feeling fomo. I like that its not a coat you see often, is extremely high quality, ethically made/produced, a dope brand, and isn't the "easy answer" like a Canada Goose that everyone wears which kind of makes it feel "meh" from an individuality perspective. Great review. Just got this jacket in black, and super impressed on all fronts. Have jackets from Moncler, Stone Island and North Face and this is right up there for quality, style and function. Buttons are way nicer and never like Velcro on clothing. Find it fits true to size. 10/10 and Patagonia is an exceptional brand. From a passionate consumer down under here in Wellington, New Zealand

I'm a dumb bitch and got this even though I live in Southern California, but I honestly don't regret it. I wish it had symmetrical drop in pockets on both sides, and maybe a waist adjustment bungie to reign in the fit a little more, but overall it's very functional and sleek looking, with just enough design cues to class it up. Although I like the buttons, and they're design helps with gloves (not that I wear gloves), but I really wish it was magnets to be the best of secure closure but ease of use like Velcro. Also, it's GoreTex, so on top of the DWR finish it's waterproof.

Disclaimer: I am 5'7' muscular built/190lbs. I recommend a large. This is slim fit!
