Lessons that can be learned: 1:02 Mistake: Baccarat Rouge 540. Lesson: Avoid blind buying expensive fragrance. Try it first. 3:18 Mistake: Brooks Brothers Black Fleece tartan plaid pants. Lesson: Avoid blind buying avant-garde clothing without trying them on first. 4:00 Mistake: Fujifilm X100S. Lesson: Never buy a camera just because a professional uses it. Regret my thick wool cardigan from Ralph Lauren for over $300 while living in Texas lol 😂 And, the Pal Zileri Long sleeve polo with the nasty cooked pasta noodle collar for $200. The thin, formless/shapeless collar without buttons, and not tapered at the ends (meaning the threads will become frayed very easily) is a no for me.

Thanks for sharing your mistakes. My worst one was probably a Speedy Reduced. I knew the servicing costs were high, but bought the cheapest one I could find anyway. I was probably the coolest 18yo around. But once the chrono hand stopped running smoothly, the pushers stopped being clicky... I was quoted what I paid for the watch to have it serviced.

I really want to see those pants now lol. For me, I have some - but not too many (yet!) regrets. When I got my first nice paycheck after leaving the army, I spent around $500 on a Fossil watch. A year later I discovered it's retail price is $175 so I was kinda ripped off there. Not a huge blow given how much I made a month, but you just feel really dumb after this happens. After that every purchase was preceded by a thorough research work.
@hespokestyle3 жыл бұрын
Oooof! Yeah, always pays to research purchases like that though even then you can make a mistake.

IMO it's important to have someone you trust to accompany you when shopping for clothes. Because salespeople will ALWAYS compliment you on the item they are trying to sell you and in the heat of the moment it can be hard to remember WHY the salesperson is complimenting you.

You should have bought a decant of the cologne. I would never blind buy any cologne over $200 without going onto one of the decant websites and getting a 5ml decant for around $15-$20 first. About the bike tires. My buddy raced cycles for a long time. You don’t have to buy rims and tires either. At least around the Boston area you can rent higher end rim and tire combos for a little as a weekend. Gives you a chance to try them out and it saves you a ton of money.

I’ll add, if you make a purchase mistake to not be stubborn and keep it when there’s likely high residual value by selling it on. Reinvest into what you do want

Great video! My biggest style regret is a pair of Stacy Adams oxfords, two months in they started squeaking when I would walk. Shorty after I purchased a few pair of Meermin oxfords and they have been great. Again, thank you for the video ✌🏽

Not a racer but have been dying to ride the bike again once this snow is gone. Have this black 1951 Raleigh Sport from my grandfather that I've been putting some time into. Goes well with a tweed sports jacket, lol.
