Gosh there is such an absence of rudimentary anti-pilfering features, such as two way zippers which can be temporarily zip-tied together for a safer nap on a minivan, train, or bus at a local tropical tourist destination. I don't think Patagonia needs to make convenient access a challenge, like on PacSafe, but anchor points for twist-ties, zip-ties, mini carabiners and even actual tiny padlocks would be really helpful. (Tip: a supply of mini zip-ties, with a nailclipper to snip them off, can be really handy.)

The LLBean 32L Deluxe School Pack is very down-scale compared to the Paxat, and doesn't have much in the way of laptop protection, but thanks to the unpadded (except for back panel) and unlined 420d nylon panel construction, it is a real lightweight and actually has more usable volume than the Paxat, which sacrifices a lot of usable volume to the extra padding. www.llbean.com/llb/shop/121112?page=deluxe-bookpack-iv&bc=&feat=school%20pack-SR0&csp=a&searchTerm=school%20pack&pos=4 Of course for USA casual business travel, the zip apart laptop slot on the Paxat is a game changer going through security.
