Not a lot of people like Patapon 3 but me personally, i love it so much. It's such a good ending to the whole series. Only leaving the dark side of the story to stay unfinished. I was expecting maybe Patapon 4 which on the dark side perspective but sadly we will never get that.

To people who think Patapon 3 is bad because you don't have an army, the entire point of having lots of troops is that you can manage them to all do little things like in Pikmin but in Patapon you can't do that. They all just do the same thing, which means they work as one hivemind blob. So each little mini-squad of troops in Patapon 2 is basically just a single character, and Patapon 3 understood that and understood that the armies were not necessary. In Patapon 2 you don't actually have an army, you just have 4 characters that control a few. In Patapon 2, you have 4 characters. In Patapon 3, you have 4 characters. Nothing changed.

Actually it changed a lot. First of all you could decide if you want a huge army of weak soldiers or a small army of strong soldiers. Also not everyone was built the same. For example gigantic weapons were usefull for some classes, heaven weapons for others, etc. What i think they do good is to mix clasess with race, but hell at least give us 3 soldiers

I know people often joke about series taking an edgy turn after a certain number of entries, but I gotta say that I always revel in such when it happens lol Pokémon Colosseum was always my favorite game in that series (Legends Arceus comes close now, which is also on the more serious side than usual)... in Phantasy Star Online, I was always choosing dark color schemes... I chose Kasane in Scarlet Nexus due to her "public enemy" angle (even if the story is more nuanced than just that)... etc. On the whole, I always tend to choose classes/weapons with sharp edges, badass skills, darker aesthetics, etc. That applies to Patapon as much as any other series, where I immediately fell in love with the vibe and aesthetics of 3, espexially when hearing this rendition of 2's title theme I understand why 2 is the most popular, and I love it a lot too, but 3 will forever be my favorite - even if I regret never finishing it. I had gotten stuck on a certain mission (something feline that used lightning iirc... like a lion or something?), and never managed to overcome it as a kid I guess wishing for a remaster of 3 is a lost cause at this point, but hey, I can see an overhaul mod and HD textures for PPSSPP... so maybe I'll revisit the game that way soon

The original creator and musician is creating a spiritual successor game, not Patapon but has similarities to the concept. Hopefully if it takes off, Sony might be inspired to get a 3rd party porting company to work on porting Patapon trilogy to the console and Steam (Steamdeck handheld)... Or even mobile since it's not very hard to emulate, but a remaster is better. The game uses 'vectors' for scalable imagery so when the image of the sprites are zoomed in, the quality doesn't diminish. But you have to remake the images from scratch in order to retain the quality as vectors, you can't merely copy and paste the image itself. Patapon is still referenced in multiple first party Sony games, so I'm pretty sure they'll bring it back one day.
