The biggest (and possibly only) changes are to the tracking of the sword slashes and the laser with the big explosion. It is now much easier to dodge the sword slashes from medium to close range, and from midrange you can often dodge them even without quickburst. This allows you to play a little more aggressively. A bigger change comes to the big explosion laser, where it now does not track perfectly, so you can run behind it and safely hit, and you can more easily assault boost towards the boss and dodge it as the timing on dodging it to the side seems far more lenient now. This makes the laser now a far safer big punish window. The rest feels the same

@@BBQcheese Big laser's tracking was obnoxious and is a lot better now. Sword tracking was also a bit much, but those were easy to play around without hitting your aggression much. They also nerfed Sea Spider (seems to have a bit less tracking on coral shots and vertical laser, p2 I'm not knowledgeable enough about to comment on, the homing missiles are maybe easier to dodge? I can't really tell) and Balteus, who I haven't fought yet

Yeah, it's very noticeable. Much more subtle on Sea Spider from what I can tell. Yet to test Balteus

I had a run where CEL 240 did the sword slash attack 4 times consecutively and I managed it eat all 12 of the projectiles

Yeah the changes seem to only be the Sword Slashes Everything else is pretty much the same AKA you only ever Strafe against her Balteus Missile NOTICABLY has worse tracking, but now it spamms more Flamer and use Shotguns and Bazooka more(The last 2 i argue is worse than the Missile) As for Sea Spider..... his energy defense went from the highest to the negatives, its now the biggest weakness

Looks.. so easy now.. Same movement before 100% dead on slashes/laser, and it seems to spend more time nearby now.. Terrible idea, but at the same time, I did get dunked on by the old version for a while. Idk, I finished ng++ already, but im bummed that the true gatekeeper got nerfed so hard.

I wasted most tries on this boss on release and tilted a lot about sword slashes being hard to dodge. Now the boss seems to be the same walk in the park as the rest of the game =/ Or idk, it's probably you who makes it look easy. I haven't tried the game since getting the 3rd ending. Maybe I'll check it out later, but now I get a guaranteed crash from the hangar menu each time I load the game.

You could play quite similarly last patch (my pistol kill is last patch), but the dodge timings for triple sword slashes and for the exploding laser shot are a lot more lenient now. Sword slashes being easier to dodge means you can play closer now and have more "openings", heavily rewarding more rapid-fire builds. It is overall quite a bit easier now, but with the right build you could (and still can) kill each phase in a single opening should one be so inclined. I personally thought the exploding laser attack was obnoxious and am happy they changed that. Sword slashes were maybe a bit overtuned, but now they feel a bit too forgiving.

Seems like it Strat for me was always get in, stagger, deal damage and then wait for an opening while dodging the punish best I could. 2 whiff-punishes and I was out. Looks like IBIS can now be whiff-punished after almost every pattern.
