The GREAT Patch Adams, someone I always listen too when I'm feeling a little down, have spent the last 4 hours listening to different posts and feel suitably cheered, this is an amazing message he preaches and hope to join him on an adventure soon :)

I love this guy. So honest, so geniune, and caring wouldn't it be great if more of us took up the lifestyle that he is talking about.

After first learning of Dr. Patch Adams, first from the 1998 movie, followed by reading his motivational articles and listening to his motivational speeches, I have discovered some better ways on how to live a better, healthier life, both mentally and physically, without having to frequently visit hospitals, psychiatrists or medical clinics that don't necessarily provide you adequate treatment (especially for mental health concerns) and that are very costly, especially in the US. For example, his thoughts, philosophies and beliefs have inspired me to frequently attend many fun social gatherings and events consisting mostly of people who quite resonate with my overall nature, combined with interesting activities that may be involved (e.g., games, entertainment, food, etc.). This has turned out to be the best fun activity that makes my life live, spiritually. From this, I have learned that interesting, favorite or motivational activities, when performed with interesting fellow participants/partners, bring its people, including strangers, closer, hence possibly forming a friendship or two with the fellow participants/partners in the process. What a great feeling it brings to the mind, heart and soul! It is opportunities like these that have given me a second chance, as well as a fresh sense of hope, happiness and joy; unlike most services from mental health professionals and their medications. Social life can be like an art. Any sort of activity can be like an art, depending on the individual. Dr. Adams’ philosophies have kind of changed my life tremendously. Before I learned of him and his philosophies, my life was pretty much tedious, uneventful, and dull, and I was forced to cope with that for years. But now, with a decent job, with my own place to (independently) live in, while living in a nice big city consisting of many different opportunities, and as luck would have it, I finally managed to find and restore hope inside me. Life is much better now than ever before, or much better for the first time ever since my childhood or teenage years. Dr. Adams is outstanding! There is no better atmosphere than those with a bunch of genial faces and attitudes. I will keep doing this as often as possible to avoid isolation and depression. Thank you so much Doc for helping me change or improve my life! You are a true hero! Stay blessed!

I'm so very happy for you! You found the formula that works for you, keep at it! Love yourself, take good care of your body, pay zero attention to negative thoughts, ideas, feelings and people, and just be yourself: your BEST yourself! Every morning when I get up I remember the six qualities for a joyful life Patch talked about in a video in his channel, so I decide for that day to be Happy, Funny, Loving, Cooperative, Creative, Thoughtful and I added one more: Grateful. Every new single day I take that decision and stick to it. I send you a big hug, brother/sister, we are all one!
