Everytime they get things even close to feeling a bit more balanced, they nuke it with some wildly overpowered mythic, armour sets or wild class changes that nobody asked for. What I would give for an old school version of ESO with all the QOL upgrades and battlegrounds included…😢 PVP was so much fun and honestly at its peak around a bit before Imperial City came out and then For a bit after Imperial City. After that it feels like it became ElderProcsOnline… and I miss ULT animation canceling :/

@@Marv.M_CT-860I’ve said since 2018 that health caps were needed to avoid the exact situation we’re in right now. Everyone just told me to fuck myself and it was a bad idea. I still believe if you go over 30k, you should just lose 99% of your outgoing damage. That way you can still use “deal damage to proc X effect” sets, but players are just hard-walled out of being able to play builds that are simultaneously unkillable by 99% of people but can still burst 99% of people also, if you’re over 30k, you’re considered a tank and thus dont need any damage besides in principle for the aforementioned sets. People gotta die more and it can’t just be the same people over and over who actively choose to not play like that with those kinds of builds or run in giant groups. That just kills the game and sucks the soul out of it.

The Arctic Blast change on warden is one of the most myopic, terrible changes zenimax has ever done imo. Wardens literally do not have a burst heal anymore… unless we want to build a 40k+ health Polar Wind warden and lose our damage… Not to mention we lose our stun if we drop Arctic Blast and our access to Glacial Presence passive. it’s overtly clear they’re just trying to push us to buy the scribing DLC for the Healing Soul skill. and even then it’s a huge nerf as Arctic Blast was better passive wise for us and for the stun.

The biggest mistake they made was having pve loadouts meaning sets/skills/abilities have the same effect for both pve and pvp. But most of the complaining up till this point has been from the pvp players. Which leads the pve players to get frustrated from the nerfs. At the end of the day he was right in the video, they said fuck it they can't complain if we change nothing.

The general devs have been pretty good: over the years there have been numerous quality of life changes that have improved the game. The recent dungeons and trials have been refined and distilled into a fine wine compared to the early content. Then you have the combat devs who routinely make statements the are easily disproven, make changes that nobody asked for or wanted and refuse to engage with the player base in any meaningful way.

It has always bugged me that they put "changed to 35%, up from 33%". Write it as it progresses "damage has gone from 33% to 35%". Is it just me? Maybe. Just looks weird to me.

46:01 This is a Dev's explanatory-equivalent of that game with the three walnut shells and the pea. The _'three walnut shells'_ are the word-salad, intended to sell those who are critical of the NB class's unhinged over-tuning, on the idea that this is meant to be _"balancing for thematic reasons."_ The _'pea'_ is the fact that this is a buff, all-round, for NBs. Veiled Strike, which is already on every NB's damage-output bar, will net them another 400+ crit chance, due to an Assassination passive. Blur will now grant *BOTH* Minor and Major Resolve, due to a Shadow passive, in addition to its other damage reducing effects, depending on the morph. So it's, _"here's some RP bullshit to explain why NB is being tuned up even more!"_

To actually get on an honest build and go out brawling would require learning how to press your buttons and play the game lol.

This is called "Pretending to do Business" or "Pretending to Work". It happens when you pay low talent people to fill their days with bullshit. Leadership wants employees to feed into their ego, and preserve their position/rank. Don't blame the low hanging fruit making these changes, 100% blame the leadership. Making big changes and challenging the game will get you fired.

was thinking of coming back to eso, but after watching this vid by the fabulous Fengrush i've returned to my senses (as much as that's possible anyway) and will do something else. watch Feng's building frustration and exasperation with the patch and the state of the game, particularly in cyrodiil -- it'll save you time and money.. thanks for the great work and taking one for the team by doing this video Fengrush.

I can't speak for other servers but I kinda gave up on xbox eu Cyro every player has 35k hp minimum or they are proc + snipe ganking exclusively. Just isnt fun anymore cant fight these groups of players with massive safety net health bars, makes it hard to burst em when they all have tank health bars and a sword and shield which has been broken forever.

I definitely share in the frustration on display here. I just cannot bring myself to do anything in game besides a single BG or something before logging off. ZOS has been phoning it in for years now, but at this point I feel checked out. I play PvX, but am not interested in tanking for a raid team of HAsorcs who aren't paying attention or going to Cyro to fight players who run away/cloak if they don't insta-kill on the gank. I actually tried out WoW for the first time in a decade today because I want to play an MMO but ESO is *not* doing it for me anymore. Which is sad, because I do think the game could be absolutely dominating my time with better leadership/decision making.

Awsome video bro! I just looked at my friends list the other day and hard core players from multiple guilds i was in all quit around update 35. Im super disappointed with the way they handle the game. Its sad that its a running joke that, if somethings good in the game it'll be nerfed. I blame a lot of the community for complaining to the point where everything fun for pve was nerfed to the ground to cater the pvp side of the game. In all honesty it should be separated. All gear should have regulations for pvp that differentiate from pve. Basic features like inspecting someones gear don't fucking exist when it does in older MMO's. They are burnt out from the community on top of just being lazy.

I wish I could be a free consultant for pvp. NB incap nerfed to 15% but debuff does additional damage to monsters, maybe a 30% slayer etc. Pve nb fixed. Spec bow nerfed 10%, removed courage from aoe skill. Stealth has ramping cost. Sorc shields nerfed 10%, heal is capped. New haunting buff tossed out. Overload cost is 40 up from 27? Necromancer - Major brutality added to armor buff, healing tether now grants minor fortitude and magic etc. Tether healing increased by 75%. Armor buff from burst heal now lasts 6 seconds up from 3. Skeletal arcanist now grants savagery both bars for the duration. Cost reduced 10%, damage increased by 70%. Sacrificial bones increases class abilities by 35%. Blighted bones now has scaling similar to stalking but only 30%, keeps defiles. Intensive mender healing increased 30%. All patches from grasp now apply all debuffs, stun and snare increased to 50%, cost reduced 20%. Scythe now has execute scaling on par with spin to win and applies a seperate dot on par with fetcher flies. Corpses all last 10 seconds longer than before. Graveyard synergy increased by 60% and does additional dot damage equal to the synergy over 3 seconds. Passives all buffed by 50%. Templar jabs animation restored to old one, snare placed back on jabs for 1 sec. Jabs is no longer affected by evasion buffs. Potl damage increased 35%.

Scribing should have been released as an update to the base game, separate from the chapter, as it literally only effects base-game skill-lines. Instead they decided to pay wall the potential combat power, while padding out this latest chapter. And I can't believe the willingness of the player-base to paypiggie-up and gobble down the shit they were told was chocolate. I'm embarrassed to even be playing the same game as such people. I hope Microsoft *GUTS* Zenimax, and hires some Devs that aren't worse at game development than even their dumbest players would be. But they'll be safe, because they put out (as you say) fluff, to avoid Microsoft's notice, and thus its merciless approach to fixing problems.

I’ve never been beaten in a fight against warden. Dk- 50/50 Arc- 50/50 Necro- never seen one Sorc- wrecks me every time on every class NB- 75/25 they disappear constantly so 1/4 of the time i can actually kill Templar- i just run away. Stalemate every time.

The pros who play pvp are likely more intelligent, more motivated, and more invested into the entire pvp experience than the people making the decisions. This has always struck me about mmo development. The amount of intelligence a dev would need to not only focus on their own job, all of the details of doing what the bosses want, but also have the same knowledge and focus of a full-time gamer who plays one system in their game seems insurmountable. A dev has to understand pve as much as the most intelligent and invest gamer, gamers that play 15-20 hours a day, and also understand the pvp side of the game to the greatest detail, even more so than the people who addicted or invested to the detriment of their selves. The devs don't the time to test and break and exploit their own game as a pvp player would, as the pvp player is motivated by competition to try and break the game in their favor. Should they listen to nerf this, buff this from the community and do it every patch...idk...would be interesting to see the actual discussions and competency that is going on when it comes to balancing. I imagine the balancing team isn't paid particularly well and is probably tasked with a ton of other duties.

Your comment has convinced me that MMORPG's are actually an impossible game type to balance, at least with the required rate of content release that people are used to now. Definitely a complex issue that could really only be 'solved' by AI to analyse data, but then the game would probably turn into a pretty mundane experience unless the parameters were intelligently designed. I enjoyed the PVP in ESO when I played, but I feel like the game would be better off without it in one way or another.

I used to play NB brawler but I'm better off on other classes now for that playstyle. My NB has gone back to the shadows for now. I use cloak offensively as a means to approach for burst damage. I find shade much more useful for actually faking people out. Cloak is too unreliable defensively and is easily countered by magelight or detect pots. edit: also like fuck sorcs make risky plays. nothing risky about spamming 12k tooltip shards from 28m under 20k tooltip shield (that heals for some reason) then spamming streak to get away when someone finally closes the distance. what a miserable experience to fight against. bring back cost increase poisons so everyone doesn't have infinite sustain. sustain used to matter but now its just free in 2024.

Im still butthurt all these years later about the stamina regen while blocking change. It only got worse in later patches because they would nerf hammer the hell out of everything that people used because of a couple of hackers... instead of getting rid of the hackers. I cant go to the forums. Gina-Bruno banned me for being critical of their pvp combat changed about 7 years ago.

100% they ruined scribing. The raw numbers are fine as it is because one major pro about using scribing skills is about access to core major and minor buff that will allow certain class like necro to jail break away from ineffective class skills for maj brute. It will also allow certain play style to move away from bar buffers like camo Hunter and inner light and use an offensive skill instead to add more dmg while getting those core buff at the expense of gcd and cost. This streamline of 20sec to 10sec will gut all those possibilities of build varieties because 10 sec buff is not worth your effort to play the resource management mini game that you already have to play anyway with other buffs and debuffs. If they really want to streamline then all scribing affix major buffs should be 20 and not 10 due to many class skills have 20 or more seconds as standard anyway.

ZOS new enchivement,it is not enove to make pvp players ragequit corse of performenc problems ore combat problems ore non cence changes. Just make people ragequit by just reading patch notes now and not being even now in game and try out things. Jesus xD Imagene when the game comes out it was promoted for a big nice pvp game

@@ja4414 i play outnumbered 1vx all the time tarnished isn’t even in my top 5 things to worry about. If you are playing something squishy or can’t handle tarnished that’s on you. If you think tarnished is bad wait until you start seeing magsorcs and nbs with frost soul and winterborn once people start catching on, you will pretty much jump from complaining from one set to another without actually trying to adapt.

@prisonmykee2595 you sound like you hump rocks or towers and don't play the objectives in cyrodiil. Range damage is crazy rn and having these procs that don't have a target cool down is completely busted especially when it's often accompanied by merc resolve or frags pew pewing non stop for example
