Hi, I would like to thank you, because thanks to your instructions I managed to repair my Samsung 32' UE32H6200 TV. We own it for almost 4 years. One day, after being turned on for about 10 minutes, it started to show random flickering horizontal lines, starting from top left. As the time passed with TV on, the horizontal lines multitued. I followed your instructions, step by step. The problem was with flat cables. After disconnecting and reconnecting, the problem was gone! I was lucky. That is our first Samsung TV and maybe the last. It was sad to see it been broken after just 4 years of use. On the other hand, we have a couple of LG TVs that work without any problem for more than 10 years. God bless you!!! Thank you again!!!

My tv that isn’t even a year old just quit working. No red light even after attempting to reset and try a new outlet. We had some bad storms and I think that’s what did it. This video was very straight forward and helpful. I plan to use this in figuring out what is wrong with my tv so I can fix it. Love the message at the end of the video when you mentioned keeping TVs out of the landfill yards. Not many people are worried about sustainability these days. Love to hear it. thanks for the video!

Great video - i checked this out today as my UE75nu8000 has red flashing light and wont power on, I removed the back and removed the cable from power to the board and the TV was lit up permanently. Plugged it back in and didn't work. Then took out the 2 panel cables and the TV was back lit again. So this has led to me believing the panel is at fault and that was all down to this video so thanks

I have watched a lots of videos they all saids holding power button on tv for 30 seconds, except only 1 are said holding down for 1 mins, I try that and it’s work. Very good and clear video, very sympathetic! Might be a stupid question but anything you have said will work for every LCD TV like Philips, LG, Panasonic...NOT just Samsung? I ask this cause I wanna know if it's not possible to damage the TV just because I plug it up and 1 or 2 cables are disconnected/unplugged? Because I guess I have to replace my LED backlight and when I do I wanna test the LED backlight before and afterwards and then a few cables and the panel will be diconnected...that's not a problem, I can plug it up? Thanks...best wishes from Germany!

If it’s the power supply you would not have any lights blinking in the front. Take the back off the tv and stop guessing and follow the procedure in the video. Or just waste money guessing.

Very informative video, do you have any advice on what could cause a TV to lose its deep contrast & rich colour? The tv is still watchable, in fact most people dont notice there is anything wrong with it, but i am a TV enthusiast & i notice the quality in the actual picture has dropped dramatically, the rich deep contrast is gone. Best way to describe it as its lost its pop, this is a modern Sony new model X900H. This is not the first TV we have had this problem with. Any advice appreciated.

@@Patch1stripeTVParts Hi, its brand new, the sticker says August 2020, but its a replacement for another faulty Sony from Sony, not the store i brought it from. The reason i ask is because it keeps happening, the reason the last tv was replaced was because it did the same thing. Instead of the rich deep contrast everything almost looks cartoonlike and unrealistic colour. Its an LED full array and would be on for around 10 hrs a day and we have had it for about 3 weeks now. Its obviously still under warranty but because its already been replaced Sony are starting to think its my perosnal taste in picture quality that is the problem, not a fault with the TV, but that is not the case at all. Out of the box this TV was absolutely astounding, so to say its my personal preference is sidestepping the issue in my opinion. Any help appreciated.
@Patch1stripeTVParts4 жыл бұрын
@@grantwills7620 Sound like its a common problem with that model. I would take it back to the store and get a different model if it has just got to be a Sony. Where did you make the purchase?

@@Patch1stripeTVParts Its the first one i have had in this model, the previous tvs were last years model so sony have actually gone above and beyond by replacing the old one with this years brand new model. Are you familiar with what it is that can effect a tvs picture thats not performing like it was out of the box (drop in picture quality but still watchable) rather than repairing a tv that isnt turning on etc. Could it possibly be a Tcon board issue or is it more likely a faulty panel? I could best describe it as something to do with the lighting is off. Its whatever gives a tv its punch or wow factor is gone.

Your advise as to how to fix a Samsung tv is invaluable. I have a set I puchased back in December 2018 and used it for about a year when the screen got a stange image that looks like a spider and a bunch of lines. Samsung claimed that thescreen was struck by something. I am an elderly adult who lives alone and I can assure you no one ever hit the tv. The insurance declined my claim saying that the insurance did not cover accidental damage and it all ended there. I still have the set stored away hoping to find a solution. The model is UN55NU7100. is the screen replaceable? Could this be solved by some internal fix? Would appreciate your invaluable advise. Thank you. My Name is Nelson.
@Patch1stripeTVParts2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for contacting me. If you say you did not impact the screen, I believe you. Here is something lots of people do not realize, Samsung TVs arrive in the U.S. on ships in containers. From the offloading of the containers to the arrival of these TVs to the different distribution warehouses, a lot of these new TVs do not make this journey intact. Your TV could have had minimal impact during this journey and is now showing up after a period of extended usage. That seem to be the case with your TV. Going forward, a new screen would cost more to replace it than it would cost just to get a new tv.

Now when I turn it on the red light blinks 5 times and the tv comes on and goes into endless attempt to try and update but no further. I did the techniques you described above and it seems when I disconnected the t-con board completely the back lights came on. I am not confident enough to replace it until I have more confirmation.
@Patch1stripeTVParts3 жыл бұрын
hello, from what you described you had a voltage surge come in on your cable connection to the tuner. I would replace the main board.

Hello I have a Samsung un75nu7100fxza. While watching I heard a loud pop and tv shut off. No power and no red light. Took off the back and tested just the ceramic fuse. Fuse is no good. What are you thoughts as to what it can be?
@Patch1stripeTVParts Жыл бұрын
you can still use the method used in this video to narrow down the suspect faulty part. I would look close at all the chips and transistor on the power supply for a physically damaged component. I would take a guess that the pop came from the power supply.

What if your tv isn't a smart tv? It's a basic Samsung LED with the main board, powerboard, and t-con without any bells or whistles. I've got an old un39fh5000fxza and I can get the red light, will show a red power light on the main board when it powers down but does not power up, does not show any back lights, there is no image on the screen when hit menu or tools etc. I'm wondering if the electric co didn't back feed my house working on lines and its done. And if I could see any damage on the boards I'd at least have the satisfaction of knowing where the problem is. Anyway, should the removing the cables work the same with this basic tv? I did remove the cable from the main to the power and there was no power period. No red light, no backlights (which there have been none period).
@Patch1stripeTVParts2 жыл бұрын
Hello, having no backlight after disconnecting cable from main board to the power supply, you are almost there. The faulty component is the power supply or a backlight failure. Are there discoloration on the power supply? You will have to flip a coin to decide which one needs to be replaced if you can use a voltage ohm meter
@Patch1stripeTVParts2 жыл бұрын
If you are experienced with a meter, use the legend near the connector that you disconnected.

@@Patch1stripeTVParts Thanks. I was doing this at 1am last night. There's no discoloration unless it's underneath. Been looking for a reason to buy a fluke (my kids have disappeared the HF ones) so this gives me a reason. I'll update when I get it. Thanks again. ps hoping to get a 39 inch computer monitor out of this.

Thank you for making the video. Very easy to follow. I have an unusual situation with my Samsung tv. My tv seems to not power on if I have any HDMI cables plugged in. If I unplug the HDMI, the tv works like normal. Now here's where it gets weird, I had fixed this (temporarily) by unplugging the power to the speakers. Now suddenly it's back to not working - when HDMI is unplugged. Oddly it works fine using RCA cables. Any thoughts or ideas on that? Thank you again for the video!
@Patch1stripeTVParts4 жыл бұрын
Your welcome. From what you described, I am thinking - how many HDMI cables are you plugging in? I would plug in one at a time until it shuts the TV down. Then you know that you have a bad cable. If you just have one HDMI cable, I would swap it out with another HDMI cable from another working TV to see if the TV shuts down. I think you have it from here. Hit me back.

@@Patch1stripeTVParts thank you for the fast reply! I have an hdmi switcher, so I have 5 hdmi into one box, and then the one box plugs into the tv. The TV has two hdmi input ports. It doesn't seem to matter which hdmi port I plug into, it immediately puts the TV into standby and it won't turn back on until I unplug it. I tried plugging into devices individually, same story. Oddly, I just unplugged everything (all devices, speakers etc) rewired everything, plugged the tv back in and now it is working. Could it be a grounding issue where the tv "de statics"? When I unplug it? I'm confused as it seems to be an intermittent issue. The first time I 'fixed' it by unplugging the speaker it worked for a few months without issue. Last week I had to disassemble the tv, didn't change anything and it worked for a week, and now it works again. Thank you for your time and advice! 🙂
@Patch1stripeTVParts4 жыл бұрын
@@BrenIrwin have you tried to connect the cable individually straight to the TV without the switcher? Using all of your different cable to connect to that one device? Another question - are you calling the one connect box a "switcher"? What is the model number of your TV?
@BrenIrwin4 жыл бұрын
@@Patch1stripeTVParts thank you again for the very fast reply. I have tried different cables going direct to the tv without using the hdmi switch box. Same issue unfortunately. It doesn't seem to be the devices, cables or which order they are plugged in. And oddly after not working the previous day after unplugging some components and plugging them back in, it seems to be working. I do still have the speaker disconnected. The model is un46eh5000. Thanks again for taking the time. I also had a look at the board and capacitors, all looked normal. I'm at a loss. Cheers!

Great video! I have a LG TV (65uh6150) that when I plug into wall the backlights start blinking. I thought maybe my backlights were bad but when I took apart and tested the backlight LEDs they all worked. I also disconnected main board and it did the same thing. Do you think I have a bad power supply? Here's another thing I tried. With main board disconnected I took a voltage reading of 175 at backlight plug. When I reconnected main board the voltage increased to 380.

@Patch1stripe TV Parts A strange new development. I measured the voltage across the backlight LED array and it was less than the specified 142V. It was my first time using a Brother Smart Multimeter and it fixated on mV and when I touched the chassis with one probe, the Backlight flashed on momentarily. What what is busted now? I can eliminate the backlight LEDs.

personally I would confirm if the main board and the power supply and t-con are the same. If they are, I would roll with it and not worry about the particulars of serial numbers etc.

I unplugged my set then held the power button for about 20 seconds. I know that's a suggestion when working on a laptop for instance. Unsure if necessary but I did it just in case. I know some capacitors will retain electricity in them. Doesnt seem like it would hurt too bad but I dont like pain so much I've been zapped by a straight hot current coming from the breaker box before. THAT does hurt! A LOT! JS Good luck and have fun with your repair job... I love it when I'm able to make something work again. So empowering! Peace

Great video, even if I haven’t solved the problem (yet) it was such a good experience to do it along with you. Two questions: 1. I could see the backlight, I could hear sound, I could cast thought most of the time casting didn’t work. But the screen dimmed like it returned to standby mode after few seconds. So is it necessarily still means the power supply is ok? 2. After concluding it’s the t-con I took the part model number printed on the board, is it necessarily mean this is the part model number or I need to look on the numbers on the barcode?
@Patch1stripeTVParts3 жыл бұрын
Your power supply is fine. I would also check the ribbon cables to and from the t-con board for brown spots which indicate over heating. Check the printed circuit boards that is connected to the LCD panel for burnt component.

Thanks! So my 55" Samsung works but has a black shadow about 6-8" wide just off center that goes from top to bottom, not side to side, what could that be?
@Patch1stripeTVParts4 жыл бұрын
I would inspect the ribbon cables between the t-con board and the LCD panel for discoloration. If that checks out I would swap places with them and see if the problem follows the cable - the black shadow moves to the other side of the screen. I would also remove the metal shields for the LCD panel printed circuit board and look closely to see if I see any burnt components. If all this checks out, I would replace the t-con board. Hope this helps.
