i posted this as a bug on discord but one of the moderator said: "this is just a side effect of "red explosions are created on enemy contact but not on snipes" you're not getting the extra bonus from snipes so doesn't seem like this needs to be fixed really" so...

If you shoot the Rocket launcher at a manget stuck in the ground it will create the same effect, allowing hefty damage against stationary enemies such as the flesh prison/panopticon or traps for bosses with intros Edit: tested against Gabriel 2, it sweeps almost his entire first healthbar with five rockets

beacuse for t.ex gabriel cant get hit by it and since the rocket needs to be in freezframe for a moment for it to charge theres a near zero chance of acctually hitting him, its sorta instead of using a nail or saw trap but it deals more damage. @@nevinmyers1245

I do feel that the Ultranuke thing was something that came out by accident, I don't know, maybe the malicious cannon having the property of multiplying explosions and that, But this, I do believe, is something done intentionally.

They were added with layer 7. This is a visual effect which is signals that rocket has become "critical" (red explosion on hit)

i think its sort of intentional, using things like the magnet and coins are costly enough to offset the effect, especially if the goal was to make it harder to do than simply timing a revolver shot

basically, rockets explode not only when hitting enemies, but when they're hit by magnets and coins, so throwing a magnet against a supercharged rocket (mechanic that was added in violence) doesn't count as a snipe and thus triggers a red explosion it doesn't count as a snipe so it lacks a bit of damage, but overall, good tech
