Sub-minute indices on a non-chronograph watch is an instant deal breaker for me. Otherwise amazing!

It also baffles me. It's not even consistent with the 4hz beat rate. I assume that the people at Patek, Patek being the historical watchmaker that it is, are aware that it's nonsense, are aware that it's something that ancient horologers would hate. But I also assume that they've done thorough market research and concluded that the general target demographic (which is not necessarily aligned with old horological values) prefers it like that. A lot of people probably see that and think "woah look at all those graduations, that must mean this watch is really precise !" I think it's a bit sad to see Patek include nonsense in their design to sell more watches, but who am I to judge.

I'd ordinarily agree, but somehow the full arabic numerals around the dial works to balance out the presentation, chronograph or not.
