Its heartbreaking...especially for the children. Either way you look at it, from those two perspectives, its a grim situation. I can only hope the first one, who wanted SO BADLY to be her father, but wasn't, kept his word that his devotion to this child would remain, despite the fact that they don't share blood. And if there WAS so much doubt in the second case, WHY WAIT 33 years to learn the truth? Especially when this beautiful woman wants a father in her life so badly. He spent 33 years NOT being in her life, due to the doubt. Will he be a more devoted father for her, now that this truth has come to light. Because I think that would be EVEN MORE heartbreaking for her....knowing that he really is her father and he STILL doesn't want to be in her life. And he even said that he had a choice to make, that day at the hospital. His girlfriend had just had their son....and Ms. Cherry's mother had just had his daughter. And even though MULTIPLE PEOPLE were congratulating him on the birth of his DAUGHTER....when it came down to it, he CHOSE to go to his girlfriend and her son. He denied his daughter once. He continued denying that she was his daughter for the past 33 years...DESPITE already being told this is his daughter when she was born. Had their been a doubt at that time on the paternity of the daughter, he could have done a paternity test and confirmed his bond with her then. He just didn't want a daughter...he would rather have a son. He even ADMITS this when Judge Lake made that point. He's so busy listening to gossip on the streets, and not finding the truth FOR HIMSELF on whether she was his daughter or not, so when the streets told him he wasn't the father, rather than CONFIRM THE TRUTH with a paternity test, he says "I have my son. I don't want to be bothered with this other daughter. I choose my son. and he just let it be assumed that he wasn't the daughter's father even though HE WAS. Careful Mr. Johnson...if you deny her one more time, you are no better than Peter when he denied Christ three times. In my opinion, the best predictor of future behavior is relevant past behavior. And while his hug was a nice gesture, NOTHING ELSE he has done has indicated his desire to be her father. EVEN WHEN the paternity test was offered to him MULTIPLE TIMES, he still didn't do it. It took the daughter bringing him all the way to court. If we are looking at which man is truly a FATHER, I would say the first man is the better father, even though he didn't share blood with his child...at least he WANTED her and his love was reflected in his actions. Unlike the father who DID share DNA with his daughter.

My oldest sons dad takes care of my daughter who isn’t his. I was even living with his family when I gave birth and they gave me a crib, clothes, everything and love her. They are in Mexico and Texas and they still have my little red head over on vacations and consider her family. Last episode so sad but bittersweet that the non-bio father is willing to be in her life. This is why mandatory DNA testing should happen in EVERY state, not just in Tennessee after they passed the law this year. The only reason for a woman to protest is because they know they are misbehaving and trying to pin the tail on the donkey with the most money potential or know their marriage/relationship is going to belly up when she is exposed for cheating. I am glad for the outcome of the first case. Honestly, from the beginning I thought the girl was his because she looked like him and her mother. Such a beautiful girl, and I know you can't assume anything because of the looks but in their case you could see that is her dad. 😊

The first one- he knew the child wasn’t his! Because if he was so open to raising the kid with or without the birth father in the picture, then why not sign the birth certificate anyways? Total BS about allowing the birth father a chance to “step up”!
