The only community that has been prospering as far as development is the 6th ward the Islamic community and former ward of our current mayor who just happens to be Lebanese, ... coincidence? He doesn't praise any other ward the same way he does the 6th ward. He has literally done more ribbon cutting ceremonies in that ward than any other if at all and that says A LOT!

You have your priorities backwards. Clean up your crime first, then clean up your streets of all of the trash and repair your infrastructure, THEN talk about Paterson becoming a "Tourist Destination". I grew up in Paterson in the 60's and never worried about crime, Now, I would never think about bringing my children here to show them where I grew up fearing for their safety.

As a Paterson resident the city definitely has potential with south P having great choices for restaurants and far East side having mansions that are decently maintained, but unfortunately I don’t see this dream coming true as quickly as we would like. Considering the bad reputation,history, and terrible public schooling we got people just laugh at this city, not to mention a broad day shooting that happen a couple months ago on Broadway doesn’t really help our case. If the people that live in the community won’t change then we won’t see much progress 🫤

We used to go there for Peruvian food. Many of those restaurants are gone, now it is Dominican food. The town still has a strong immigrant vibe. I would hate to see that leave with gentrification. Also a lack of street parking.
