Path of Exile 2 Classes: Which One Should You Pick?

Hope you guys know this game isn't like Diablo 4. ANY class can use any weapon-no class has a signature weapon. You can do whatever you please. A warrior can be a caster, and a spell caster can be fast and dexterous. It's a much more complicated game, so don't go in thinking it's black and white. Just my tips.

I agree with you, but in the same time picked class determines your ascendencies. While, yes, you can do anything you want is mostly for veteran Poe players. For beginners or people who coming back from long time to Poe are more easy and accessible to play the obvious choices what ascendencies are offering. For example if you are a ranged style guy in other arpgs you should pick ranger or mercenary.

That's what's soo appealing to me. I love the freedom of Divinity 2 and how you can mix and match different skills and weapons and create completely unique classes and playstyles. In PoE 2 I would really like to create something close to Thor or Enhancement Shaman from WoW. Melee fighting who can also cast elemental (lightning) spells, some sort of a battle mage if you will. You think it would be possible in this game?

I think it's too early for you to say that with such confidence. Say all of the ranger ascendancies boost bow skills only. Sure it'll be possible to pick ranger and use quarterstaffs and monk skills, but it'd be hugely inadvisable. It's not like Diablo 4. But it's not like PoE1 either. Let's wait and see what PoE2 is like before we get on our pedestals.

@KrigHammar well suggesting that characters have a signature weapon is just straight up wrong information no matter how you slice it. No matter how much you want to give players perspective, that is simply not the right information. And I think when you talk about a game like Path of Exile that can be a bit convoluted and very unfriendly to new players I think it's better to give a realistic idea of what the game is. It's not hard not to include things like that that just simply isn't the right information, and it doesn't hurt to not include that. As a player who's been playing since 2014 and someone who went to the showcases to play Path of Exile 2 it is very clear that the difficulty of this game is higher. And when you try to tell the audience that it has things like Diablo 4, it gives players the very bad impression of what the game actually is.

@peacewarlord extremely possible. That's the beauty of Path of Exile and that's what sets it apart from any other arpg is not very on the rails when it comes to developing characters and making builds.

This is undercooked bro, we haven't even seen ascendancies yet. The real reason why you pick a class is for the ascendancies since any character can use any skill, passive ability, or weapon.

If you've never played it before, then early access will cost you - even though the game will be released for free eventually. Also note that unlike the impression this vid gives, you can play any weapon and build on any class. It's just more straightforward on some of them than others.

for the witch id love to see golem trees like (1) goats litch golem/ that's long rang cold caster /comes with 3 small goat pets/ and mana leeching (2) zombie abomination golem / 3 zombo pets/ hp regen /plegs speeding & stinks / melee tank (3) vampire blood golem /3 vamp pets or bats/ hp leach & hp share/ mid range impaler assassin DPS.....pless ask a dev for me i love pet classes :)

It's pretty similar to poe... you just take things one at a time and then it's not complicated. There's tons of options, but that doesn't mean it's unplayable. There will be plenty of build guides to follow

The warrior seems the the most fun for me so far. I love the fact that the movement is so fluid despite the long animations, with the possibility to control movement mid animation or even cancel with dodge. Really makes it feel different from the others 😤

This game looks SO much more polished and distinguished than D4. You can literally see the passion in the game. It looks so deliberate and well thought out. D4 can not even compare to this, it’s not even fair. Already more classes than d4 and the classes look like they put the d4 versions to shame… The Druid looks like an absolute menace!
