One of my biggest problems with crafting in PoE1 has always been that the mechanics are all over the place. Special base types, beast crafting, bench crafting, many different currencies, etc. Even though I'm experienced and know all of it it's hard to keep track of all the possibilities. Another one is that everything seems focused on high-end crafting aside from simple bench crafts. Unless you are one of the fastest players crafting anything that isn't high-end always seems like a waste as you can always buy something that is either better or cheaper or both from other players. I am hopeful that the new mechanics is PoE2 will fix some of this.

Would it be possible to get a league start Rog guide? Most guides have 86 gear and insane rng. I've avoided Rog for three years, but PoE 2 doesn't have Betrayal and I need some way to get early gear.

They drop everywhere, and bosses tend to have a higher chance (some bosses have guaranteed rewards for the first kill).

whats a prefix and a suffix?

Different types of mods on items. For example in PoE1 "resistance" modifiers are always a suffix, but +to maximum life is always a prefix.

Items can have 6 mods, the first 3 are prefixs and the last 3 are suffixes. All mods on items are sorted in one of these 2 categories.

I have not played POE ever! ... I'm still confused. Crafting currencies? - where how what? and as I understand this is the beginning of crafting? If I don't understand what this currency is or how to get it - then how can I understand the rest of this video. So we can't craft weapons, we can only craft augments which increase stats ???

Fyi they confirmed today that GCPs are in the game but only drop at endgame.

I knew they were holding out! But it makes sense for GCPs to exist, since skill quality exists so players needed a way to raise skill quality.

It will be quite hard to craft something useful with the orbs if you don't spam thousands of them on hundreds of items. The Orb of Annulment is useless, because it removes a random modifier, so there's a chance it will remove the modifier that you want to keep. Maybe you can spam until you have 2 or 3 good modifiers and from there, you must use Essences to enhance the 4th or 5th modifier of an item. If you get a perfect Rare Item with good modifiers, then you Corrupt it. But it will be a tedious process to achieve that in the first place. So Vaal Orbs will stay a long time in your stash before you can really use them. Very good video by the way. I hate all the "reacting to" videos, they are so useless and provide nothing constructive.

Thank you. I think there's more control than at first appears tbh. Yes there's some RNG and yes you might remove something you want, but for example, let's say you wanted to make good movement speed boots; Step 1 - Use an essence to add speed (repeat on new bases until tier 1) Step 2 - Aug anything to fill the suffix, ideally with a resistance. Step 3 - Use an essence to add life, if it's at all decent move on to the next step. Step 4 - Use Omens to modify the suffixes until you have good resistances. --- only if you are going for something really good Step 5 - Slam a prefix, any prefix with an exalt. Step 6 - Corrupt, and pray. Is there some RNG here, yes absolutely, but after step 3, as long as you hit a decent life roll you have a usable item. From there you can fill out the suffixes or honestly just yolo corrupt and use the item provided it doesn't reroll the life/movement speed. Alternatively; Rog is looking very powerful with this, because he normally offers more control over items in the form of affix tier upgrades.

Hope they keep adding currency and more currency and more untill you have nonclue wtf currency does what. So casual players won't play.
