Helpful tips: 1. Vendors sell great gear and restock every time you level up. Check each lvl 2. Early Access comes with 300 points to spend in microtransactions. 3. Buy a currency stash tab, and a couple premium stash tabs. It’s all you’ll need to play for at least 100+ hours. 4. In this Early Access only the first half of the campaign is available, 3 of the 6 acts. 5. In this Early Access only 6 of the 12 playable classes are available. 6. In this Early Access only 12 of the 36 accendancies are available. This is your classes final form, so only 1/3 in total. 7. They will make changes regularly because its Early Access. They made player requested changes 72 hours after launch, so constructive feedback is welcome. The loot drops and crafting currencies have already been buffed for example.

Its 30 bucks to play early. That's it. It will be free to play when it fully launches next year. Diablo 4 is a 70 dollar game and they gave it a 9/10. POE2 is in early access and completely stomps Diablo 4 in everyway. The game will definitely change hence the early access but for early access it's in great condition. Diablo 4 still has tons of features and convenience that are missing from PoE 2. Also PoE 2 dropped the ball with itemization and endgame. The endgame is too slow and boring because the combat/movement is slow making mapping grindy and tedious. They really downgraded the crafting to a point where D4 has better itemization. Whenever you use a currency orb it’s basically like tempering except all the possible stats are on the same tempering manual and you get zero rerolls so you brick the item 99% of the time. Too much RNG, not enough determinism, bricking often, it makes Tempering from D4 look like the greatest thing ever and that makes D4 look a better game.

IGN, a suggestion to alleviate concerns about your review system: rate games specifically within their genre with defined classification (so there would be a scale for ARPGs, JRPG, Survival Horror, Sports, Racing Sims, RTS, MOBA, MMORPG, Platformers, etc.) It’s hard for many folks to grasp how the review system works when gaming as a hobby is not one-size-fits-all. The game is an absolute masterpiece. A lot of people forget that it's an open beta and that the game is going to improve A LOT MORE until full release. Congrats to GGG for creating this piece of art and I hope that they will continue supporting it for the next 10+ years. I love this kind of games, put hundrerds of hours on Diablo 2 and 4, but my all time favorite in the genre was the first Path of Exile. Soooo complex and engaging, you truly had to study and learn A LOT of things to be able to properly run endgame content. If PoE 2 is "more of the same" with better graphics I can definitely see myself skipping Diablo 4 expansions/seasons and paid content to focus on PoE2 for the next several years.

guys... feel like that's fair for what they're arguing in EA. just as an example, they upgraded bg3 review from a 7 in EA to a 10 on release. i personally don't think that EA reviews hold any weight, since the game is clearly not done yet but getting an 8 as what's essentially a minimum score for the full release, should they not make any improvements at all, isn't bad. in fact, D4 getting only 1 point better on their release (which i agree, it didn't deserve a 9), is pretty good for poe2, no?

@@ashenhunter1936 i never said that poe2EA is better than d4. i haven't played poe2 yet, so i wouldn't be able to make that distinction. also, whether it's better or not is irrelevant to both, the point i was trying to make and my thought behind it. the point i was trying to make is that it's pretty much guaranteed that on release, poe2 will get AT LEAST the same score as d4, even if they make little to no changes until then, which they 100% are going to make, so the EA score being lower shouldn't matter. My reason for making the point is that i don't think any EA game should get a score above a 6 or 7, no matter how good it is, bc it's in early access and therefore not done. if you give an EA game a 9 and it comes out on release, significantly improved but you can only give it 1 additional point, it makes the whole review system irrelevant bc it can't accurately convey the quality of games anymore! the most important thing for me is, why even get upset about an ign review score at all anymore? anyone who knows anything about gaming knows not to trust ign's scores and there are several yt videos that go into detail why that's objectively the case. anyone who's new to gaming will learn it soon enough. we all knew that ign was going to give d4 an inflated score before it came out and we all know that an ign 7/10 is meme. why waste your time expecting anything serious from their reviews? check them out, understand that they have an obligation to the suits above them, see which points are objectively correct or incorrect in their review and move on. getting upset that poe2EA got a lower score than D4 release just doesn't make any sense when you look at it that way

Playing the campaign twice is normal for ARPGs and as far as letting players go to endgame after the first playthrough GGG wisely chose not to since it would hinder endgame balance to do so 10~20 levels too soon. As far as the drops are conserned in early game you can`t expect epic loot and you can try getting MF on your gear but it will never be enough. It is the nature of the beast to crave ever more loot! (That means the game is working as intended!)

I think the biggest glaring problem is that you can get trapped by the mobs so easily. Especially during boss fights it can be very annoying. Also, the lack of gold in the beginning of the game. Other than that this is the most polished early access game ever.

There are skills that 'knockback' the enemies but they actually dont work in these situations. I think they should actually kick back enemies, or they should implement a way that the player can push back monsters slowly. something like that.

Love the game, but I hate the controls on console.. twin stick for melee classes is a poor choice. Adding to the fact that I can't use the right stick and aim at the same time as I hit triangle, square or X. Twin stick feels amazing on casters/ranged though, so I hope they at least add the option to turn it off for melee classes.

Y'all just gave Indiana Jones a 9 when it has the worst AI I've seen in a long time, the combat and the traversal are incredibly dull and they've shoved a lot of useless systems into it that detract from the experience (the story is amazing tho). You need basic skill of reading to understand passive skills tree. You see you don’t have enough mana so you get passive which gives you mana. I never played PoE and I’m not struggling. It’s pretty easy with skills etc.

the passive skill tree map isnt that complicated. you have highway nodes between to clusters that give you plus 5 to a chosen stat and the clusters you work to are usually like 6-7 nodes themed around something like, Skill Speed increase, life regen etc. in the middle of the node cluster is a bigger node that gives you a bigger passives in one node like 30% increase cold damages, increas frozen duration, and increase damage to chilled enemies all in one level node. respecting is pretty easy too

Imagine b*tching on "complex" talents that you can read through in 2h in game with extraordinary replayability and where you are willing to spend hundreds if not thousands of hours. H&S for not brainroten people? Paint me shocked. Also that lack of consistency - complaining about lack of something in EA, while minutes later admiring something of being in EA. Who does that?

I'd say for what it is and does, it deserves a 9. But with the crashes and bugs etc right now, I can see it getting bumped to an 8. I actually agree with IGN for once. It's already better than D4, but still has issues. No doubt that this game will be a 10 on full release, regardless of what IGN gives it. GGG has cemented their self as the ARPG people will copy like with souls games.

Critically, Path of Exile II has been exceedingly demanding ascendancy respeccing/reset, and stash tab expansion by gold using instead of real money using, for no pay to win, inevitably. Critically, Last Epoch has been exceedingly demanding mastery respeccing/reset, inevitably. Critically, Diablo IV has been exceedingly demanding 200 shared stash tabs/unlimited infinite shared stash tabs, for free, for no pay to win, inevitably.

Don't worry, folks. Diablo 4 only got a better score than PoE II because Activision Blizzard paid for the IGN Premium Service. Travis Northup had to cave in and bitch about the complexity of a game he barely touched, the loot drop not being shoehorned towards your class or the game actually being easy if you bother to trade with your peers so Diablo 4 can look better in comparison.

Honestly a solid review, I do feel it is more of a 9/10 and will likely become a 10/10 on release. But I disagree with the story point - their way of storytelling is understated and not in your face. Obviously nowhere near something like BG4 though.
