Confirmed Lightning Arrow can’t Chain. Curious what you would change knowing this?

shockchain arrow ;), we saw it being used and there were a million lightning rod pops so i assume lightning rods count as being shocked? otherwise i don't know how they were able to pop 10 at a time Also, can you send me a link where you got the info from? EDIT yea i found it and see that the projectile itself cannot chain, which is fine, i primarily want the beams to chain more, projectile chaining would make clear better but single target worse due to only being able to chain to 2 lightning rods, but if chain support affects the amount of beam chains, then that's perfect.

They confirmed crits dont inherently afflict ailments

Just to point out some Poe1 mechanics, we have no reason to believe atm this will change for poe2: -Enemies in chaining sequence cannot be hit by projectile that originates from the same skill use. So you chaining LA does not improve singe target dps at all, just clear dps against many mobs. -Per projectile collision only one projectile behaviour is possible ->pierce, fork or chain -> linking chain to pierce is pointless.

Lightning rod can be chained to so having more chains on LA would still improve single target DPS, that's why I'm leaning more towards chain than any other proj behavior

well in poe2 the pierce supportgem only provides piercing through 1 enemy, after that IF its the same as in poe1 it will move on to the next projectile behaviour upon hitting another target which would be chain in this case (as we have no forking). I do agree that commiting 2 supportgems for projectile behavior is quite wasteful though.

@@Flakzor123 oh i think you guys misunderstood me (or didn't watch the section fully!) I'm gonna be choosing one of the 3 behaviour gems, most likely chain which is also the only gem out of those 3 which would technically increase single target dps too cus of the synergy with lightning rod, BUT things might change depending on things like chain availability on the tree/items and what feels better.

@@EldenSaul well I was providing a hypothetical in response to the other comment but you are correct that I'm speedskipping through most poe2 content at the moment... there is so much to go through each day =) On the subject of chaining lightning arrow I DO believe that the arrow itself might chain and only fire the beam after exhausting the additional chains from the supportgem, not sure but I think it used to work like that in poe1 (though I havent played for about 10 leagues so I might be wrong)

@@Flakzor123 yea that might be the case in poe2, will have to test it out, would be pretty sad if it adds chains to the proj itself rather than the beams, if that's the case then i will probably end up using the shockchain arrow, granted that's another button

Going Gemling Legionnaire because i want to try something flexible - might do lightning arrow on it as well (if quality is good on lightning arrow)

what do you think about rain of arrows? i think its combined with the gas arrow + snipe for the frenzy charges? deadeye ascend with frenzy is quite nice as well

Rain of arrows looks strong if you can immobilize the target. Pin and electrocute could help with that, just gotta think about the map clear too.

Charges don’t grant any inherent bonuses though.

I am torn between gemling legionaire and one of the monks for 1st PT. I've heard sorc is kinda meh and ranger and warrior is nevery thing just too generic. I wonder what other classes we'll get later.

sorc is fine now, subtractem tested almost exclusively sorc whenever he had a chance to play and he says she's fine now, and in the latest test he found a pretty good staff early game and was just blasting everyone. If you wanna play sorc just do it, I'm fairly certain all classess right now will be okay, just play whatever looks most fun to you!
