Crit chance and crit bonus on weapon just adds to the base on which the passive nodes are working on. Example: Base 10 crit chance + 10% crit chance means i get 11 crit chance after. If i get another 10% crit chance node it adds another 1% and does not work from the already existing 11%. Thats why base crit chance and base crit bonus on weapon is insane so every node now works from a higher base and gives more value. For example, my 450phys staff was LEAGUES worse than my 300phys staff with an insane 16.3% crit chance and 22% bonus. Since my crit chance is this high (0.2% off cap without vaal) I can take a lot less crit chance nodes and be over 80% crit and put it into dmg or more crit bonus. This weapon was 20ex btw and clears the game with the right adjustments to the passive tree. So people, stop being jebaited by high phys, also take a look at some crit chance/bonus staffs that are VERY high.
