Yea, the gatekeeping is embarrassing. There are plenty of "in the know" content creators with games who make guides all the time and sometimes even those guides dont work. Who gives a shit is someone makes a theory guide of what they think can happen with a new release? It doesnt hurt anybody at all, if you find yourself using a guide that sucks, research and find another creator who might have something more valuable to offer. It aint that hard.

The problem isnt that people are making content, its that people are making 'Best build for PoE2 Launch' and 'Complete tierlist' videos that do not accurately represent the game, new players see this and then get put off when the game comes out and it doesnt work. Its just clickbait with no actual value. PoE1 League starters are very different, we get patch notes and content ahead of the patch to make informed decisions, people are making these 'guides' with no details. The CCs arent saying dont make videos based on the content we have and know, theorycraft all you like its awesome to see and participate in, they are saying stop making clickbait guides saying 'This is *THE THING*' when we know nothing. Its got nothing to do with making builds and guides that are perfect, its got to do with people making guides that make no sense because we have no idea what actually exists. Oh lets not even start on the *LEAKS* bullshit thats on so many videos now, for content that was released in GGG videos. Bros its not a leak if the game studio released the information ffs.

The problem is that there are new players saying " I found the best poe2 build ", where they literally have 0 experience from poe1 nor poe2 and the game is not even solved yet. I think that tier lists and build guides for a game that isn't out already are a bad idea. If anyone pretends to have a clue about this game that hasn't even been released yet to make a build guide or tier list, their content can't be any good. It's hard to even compare this brand new game to a new league on PoE 1. I think it'll be a blast just playing the game fresh and going in blind.

Theres a difference between making a league starter for a game we've had access to for over a decade. And making an Early Access starter for a game 99.9% of people havent played and dont even know everything each ascendancy can do or even the basic passive skill tree... I agree gatekeeping new content creators and new players is bad. Especially because a huge part of PoE2 is intended to get a broader audience and bring in new players. But lets not pretend those 2 things are the same. Im sure it was hyperbole, but some of these videos people are making are egregious clickbait with zero content to them. PoE2 is a new game and we dont know any specifics, any scaling numbers in depth, there's many mechanics we're not simply aware of and quite frankly in depth build making is impossible, game is not even out yet.

Its less that they are trying to force ppl to stop making content, and more that going and speaking with certainty about systems could cause problems for new players that get baited. Comparing PoE 2's EA release to a League launch is honestly kinda insane and disingenuous. (one is a complete new skeleton of a game (pootentially) with very few mechanics/skills/passives shown and the other is a completely broken down hyper analyzed game that has its passive tree changes put onto PoB before the patch is even live. so obviously ppl can infer how changes will affect builds more accurately than guessing in PoE2. And for PoE's 1 or 2 players getting baited it might be like 1000-2000 instead of PoE 2, and they might not play long enough to realize that the build is the problem and not them, and many of them may never try the game again. Which is a shame because im sure if they just held off against the FOMO for 1 week they would probably find something much more enjoyable.

Okay so, I'm really really wondering what is the balance between this two things. Back when GGG was buffing the already ultra giga damage builds like the Detonate Dead ones, we're having some content creator saing that the damage was going to bee so big at the time, that we wouldn't need to capture some spectre on the Act 9 (WICH WOULD MAKE THE BUILD DO 50% MORE DAMAGE), so the community flagged the video as untruthfull in the comments. Like, we've always have this types of content creators that like to theoryze the things and if the video spread some bad ideas, and the community itself would recognize this type of behavior. On the other hand, it seems like Path of Exile 2 breaked some kind of wall, and it's allowing and exciting a bunch of new players to come and play the game. The community on this trend of "Good Toxicity" are becoming crazy with this gatekeeping for content creators and shit. But in my mind, just making good content will teach the new players on a natural cadence, the early access will be a tremendous help to this because, as things start to be added on the game, it would be possible to see wich type of person really cares 'bout the game and wich just wan't to make money via cheap content. TL;DR Natural Selection exists even on KZbin, let the time and the community itself judge what they want. (And I personally would avoid some ClickBait thumbnails, but each to their own). bruh u had me in the first minute when you said "someone named ghazzy" meaning you don't know who he is, where he is coming from, and what he means. had you taken some of your own time to maybe browse through his content, you'd have realized he gives honest opinions, doesn't care about gatekeeping whatsoever, what he is concerned about is new players following bad guides or advice and then having a miserable time and quitting he probably has 10-15k hours in poe1, and poe2 IS a different game, but a lot of the same knowledge applies. probably 60-70% of poe1 experience will transfer in the past, in poe1, there have been many instances where people get click baited into bad builds, that were not honest about their A) damage B) defense C) cost D) simplicity and in a game where there is a economy like poe1 (and poe 2 will be the same in that regard) in a trade league, having a good league start will either set you up for success economically or cripple you (a set back of 2 weeks, for example) i can 110% guarantee that ghazzy wants new players to start playing POE2, and keep playing POE2, not only because he is a content creator and his audience will grow, but also because he LOVES this game and he wants other poeple to experience that. that being said, i don't think new content creators is a bad thing AT ALL. i just want them to make sure their information presented to other new players, is accurate. there are thousands of other poe1 players JUST like me - casual players that have played 10 years of poe1, i have 6,000 hours in poe1, not because i no lifed it, but because i have played since 2013 and i enjoy the game, the "veteran" poe1 community, is one of the best communituies out there in the gaming world. newer players are welcome, and so are new content creators. what ghazzy is more concerned about is the new content creators are trying to make a name for themselves, so if they are already posting guides now, with not enough information, when experienced veterans won't do it, because it goes against their conscience to present inaccurate guides, its like presenting speculation as facts, with no disclaimers. i think we all agree that's not a good thing

I’ve played path of exile for about 10 years now and creators like Ghazi are going to be a problem. It’s like listening to a band for years before they become popular and then telling people that find the band that they aren’t real fans because they haven’t been there since the beginning. Path of exile was not easily accessible to most people, I’ve played the game for almost a decade, and I still struggle with all the ins and outs of the game. Of course, path of exile 2 is going to be more accessible, and the hype is real considering most people don’t have any good RPG‘s to play right now.These path of exile content creators are just scared that they no longer have the upper hand and will lose money now that the new game is more accessible, and they aren’t bottlenecked.
