The author of the tool made a post with some helpful extra tips! Also some builds like DoT/Ailment and minions might have some difficulties. Mostly, if PoB can show you total DPS properly then it should work.

Hey, Ziggy, much as I appreciate this tool, there was a PSA post, I beleive from GGG earlier that sharing your POESESSID could lead to others having access to your account. This feels pretty relevant, and should probably be appended somewhere. I hope there will be a change made to be able to use the tool without opening yourself up to such a vulnerability.

Lootfilters don't actually need to be tuned to your needs. You're likely better off having them show you what sells well in the current market (hence why neversink has his filters updated every 4 hours). It is usually more efficient to sell what you get and buy what you need instead of trying to find/craft your next upgrade yourself.

If you picked up 60% more dps that just means you have no idea how to scale your builds damage, the tool is incredibly innacurate as if you are for instance playing a poison build it will find items that scale your hit damage rather than poison damage

Thanks for the vid highlighting the feature Ziggy, it's great to have people help spread the awareness of this new feature. Wanted to help provide some more information to those who wish to use it 1. Dolmur, Nostrademous and Dullson are the three people that have done all the coding to create this feature. So thank them if you see them around on Reddit, Twitch chat or the comments here on YT 2. The feature is still in development and will have a bunch more features added as we continue to update PoB. We've already added a max price box to the item finder search (This will be in the next update coming out tomorrow) 3. The issues with it selecting the wrong league and the UI being ontop of each other will also be solved in the next update 4. The issues people have had where they are getting POESESSID errors are not always actually to do with their POESESSID but sometimes the skill they are using or some other bugs. We're working on fixing these + issues people have had trying to use the feature on DoT builds 5. We definitely plan to allow people to allow people to set the stats they wish to have the weighted search work on. So all the different DPS metrics (Average Hit/DoT/Ignite/Bleed etc.). This will also include defensive stats at some point (eHP, Phys Max hit, Ele max hit etc.) 6. You can set the sort by box in the top right to DPS and look at the searched items in PoB will be auto sorted for you. Hovering over the items will show you the full stat differences so you can easily see at a glance how much DPS it will provide you (should work better after tomorrows update when it chooses the correct league for you) 7. You can ctrl+click on the trade link to open it in your web browser. No need to copy and paste the link 8. Currently when you have a weighted search or any search with 10000+ results (like you had with your jewel search), the website is only able to do a sort on the first 10000 results. So you can potentially miss out on the best DPS options cause they might show up at the 11000 result on the trade site. An easy way to fix this is to increase the minimum weight at the very top of the weighted search so that less that 10000 results show up.

If you're missing POESESSIONID like I was, then while you have PoE trade open hit F12 to open up the console for your browser, then switch to the Storage tab, select Cookies and your POESESSIONID should now be visible. Simply copy and paste it from there to POB.

This is really a minor nitpick but when you go to read how much that ring changed your DPS at ~8:30, you were reading the wrong panel. The 11.7% was for if you equipped it in slot 1 and replaced the ring that was already there. Placing it in slot 2 is actually a 15.9% DPS increase over empty and a 15.4% increase over your old ring. Also, you can check how it compares to both rings when you first paste the item into POB before even adding it to your build.

insane tool but doesn't appear to be working for DoT currently, either they haven't implemented DoT modifers or it is sorting by hit DPS instead of Combined or Total DPS. Was excited to use this to search for jewels for EK ignite, endgame build can use like 5+ jewels, even more if I find insane enough ones. They're not too difficult to search for but I'd love to see how normal jewels are weighted compared to abyss ones, as that comparison is stupidly difficult to make by hand, especially when you need to compare that +level of gems through empower makes flat phys from jewels less impactful but stacking DoT multi makes extra sources of DoT multi also less powerful. So there might be a breakpoint where abyss jewels become better at one stage of the build, but are then surprassed by cobalt jewels with a max level empower.

I'm playing ignite (not EK though) and 99.999% of the time the highest full DPS is also the highest ignite DPS. Otherwise that would mean your hit scaling is still significantly higher than your ignite scaling, which doesn't sound right. Or I'm missing something

For anyone having a problem getting this to work for minion builds there is a workaround. Select each of your minion skills that you want to contribute to the search and click on the 'Include in Full DPS' button at the end of the skill. Once you have done this for one skill at least, the tool now works for minion builds as well.

Yeah, it's definitely not going to work perfectly for everything (or at all for some things). Like it can't really calculate the extra value of another projectile in my build for example. And some builds just don't quite work with DPS calculations.

I definitely always looked for a way to copy items from POB into POE trade search, even just for predefined items, if you are following a build guide for example. But this is something else. Not sure how to feel about this, truly. This looks a little bit too good, and will bring the player power level higher for sure, which is definitely fantastic for the average player. A heads up for folks interested in using this feature. It is definitely beta and DOES NOT do well with chaos dot skills focusing on dot damage. Playing a caustic arrow/toxic rain build and it was focusing on increasing my hit dps rather than dot.

I like the idea of just KNOWING "stat weights" for my build. Understanding that I get more out of raw STR than Fire damage to attacks and stuff like that is very helpful. If build makers were to literally list the top 10 stats for DPS that would be all I would need. Maybe give me a pre-canned search for each slot with those stats/slot and I'd be golden. I can add resistances/life ( or it automatically does this ) and i'd be set.

I can't actually play the game much, and I am studying computerscience and working in IT so whenever I'm watching progress bars I have time to set stuff like this up. There are some important things to note that are pitfalls: It does not factor in diminishing returns. It also doesn't perfectly factor in things that scale in a complicated way that is non linear, meaning stuff like dot multi from crits with added crit multi (especially! when you don't have max accuracy), also I regularly manage to breakt the "full dps" calculation in PoB wich would cause this to collapse completely obviously. So ideally what you would do is eliminate as many variables that make things wonky as you possibly can. That means for example preteding to be Accuracy capped even when you are not, and manually adding accuracy to make sure you are capped. If you are starting out crit dot, that would also probably mean you should manage your crit chance closely to make sure you are not overshooting or undershooting. And those are just very basic things, it get's a lot more complicated once you have things like battlemage and dot and damge conversions and crit combined in a build. The more simple your main damage mechanic is the better this will work, but the more complex your damage sources are the more you'd want a tool like this, at the same time you'll have to fine tune and manage it carefully to make sure it's prioritizing the mechanics that you think it should be going for to scale the best way. Maximizing dps on a one slot basis is always going to have inherent limitations, especially on a character that isn't fully set up yet. It'll be a godsent once you "think" you have basicly minmaxed everything, because that is where it can then really show it's potential and dig up some stuff that we might have completely overlooked. I'd assume. SO very exciting, but not the end of manual build making and character progression. :) I love it. (ofc I do I spend more time in pob than I spend ingame and I make the weirdest fing builds. xD)

This is pretty nice, but still a little wonky. Even though I had the default softcore league selected, the best item it suggested was from the hardcore league, and the second best was from ruthless. I didn't even catch it until I went to paste the whisper into chat and noticed the message before I sent it. Also, the 3 SC options seem are meant to separate league and ruthless league, but as I said previously, they don't really seem to affect the actual league the results come from, and they all just say 'SC' anyway. I never figured out why there's 3 'SC' options though. If this gets worked on a little bit more, I could see this being a great solution for ekeing a little more DPS out of your build without having to struggle with the very non-intuitive trade tool. It found me some very large DPS upgrade possibilities in the

I did figure it out (the *third* SC option is for SC Sanctum trade), so at least the filters work, even if the descriptions themselves are lacking. I was able to pick up a weapon for 10c that managed to bump my DPS by quite a bit, so the actual functionality is sound - it just needs some UI work.

When I did a search for helms it had Base: % instead of damage increase. What does this mean? Higher base = more damage?

This just for jewels is already worth it. Like you said you can get a good jewel search down to 90% but it takes a decent bit of time.
