Pathfinder Kingmaker: Best build for Valerie (unfair difficulty)

Updated: Unfortunately in the video I omit the fact, that Valerie is an atheist and monk or paladin classes are unavailable for her. Please ignore that part of the video or use console to remove this feat.

Weird how everyone thinks she's weak when she can basically make the game easy on the most difficult settings. Dazzling display and frightening is overpowered.

I still think that a 1 level dip into Thug early on to get frightening is the better play. Instead of perception, her focus is persuasion (with some points in perception for Blind Fight, etc). Intimidate checks and dazzling display fundamentally change Val from mediocre to Superb. I keep her in fight defensively stance and she can tank all day long. The dip into Thug also allows for sneak attacks if any enemy is stupid enough to target anyone other than her on the front line.

I think dexterity is a waste. You can get Belt of Physical perfection +8 and that will get you maximum Full Plate's Dex AC bonus with Tower Defense Specialist's enhancements.

how many +8 belts are in the game? Having all progress of tower mastery and a plate is = 11 possible AC from agi = up to 22 (or even 24-26 depends of armour's enchantments)

How did you keep monk AC from Charisma with a shield equipped? I tried it and lost the monk AC bonus.

Why do you put so many points into perception on her? For trap detection, isn't a different party member more ideal?

This build is not relying on secondary skills, you are free to swap it for any other skill : ) Perception is always good to have, cause all characters participate in perception rolls.

It's also nice to be able to get into the Blind Fighting tree, since a lot of enemies in the game use concealment

perception should go at least 3 on all character for access to blind fight for end game immunity; 10 perception for improved blind fight is also ok, while also helping with group spotting of traps or hidden stuff

Valerie has the potential to score the highest AC at each stage of the game, keeping consistent with dex items and armor training using full plate; her only real issue is that they used an already OVERBUFFED total ability count (27 total) to raise constitution to 19; it would be better to turn that last point of constitution down to 18 and place the 3 remaining points into 1 more intelligence and 2 more wisdom; as for her 15 charisma, that should also be rounded either up or down, as she makes both REGENT and has the feats to spare into dazzling display

@@owlygames6666 the only truly disappointing stats and build are with Amiri, Tristian and Harrim; still, if used correctly any of the NPC-s are extremely useful; Valerie's build and use are rather misunderstood and dazzling display, whenever you bother to micro, will turn every encounter that involves humanoid living enemies

@@owlygames6666 I tried but still preferred real time with pause in the end; turn based is like 5 times slower and I'm a Baldur's Gate and now Kingmaker veteran
