Taldans. I love to make surprisingly smart and eloquent human fighters, catches everyone off guard. Planning a human centric campaign, so this helped a lot.

Thanks for the great lore series! Is there any way you can share where you got the map of human migration patterns in the introduction from? My attempts of finding it online have been unsuccessful. Thanks! :)

Really good video. Usually in RPGs I find that people disregard humans as if they were all the same, but Golarion has so many diverse cultures in the lore.

I do like how fantasy and sci-fi are the only places where eugenics is not only preferable, but required to know where someone is from. 10/10 video. Thank you for all this info

As always great video! I'll be honest in the campaign I'm running (in Varisia) I was ignoring the ethnicities as they sounded kinda boring to me. Yet you have proven me wrong. It still makes me chuckle how stereotypical the looks of the Cheliaxians where made as bond villains. And I never knew common was derived from the Taldoran language! I love the work bug, keep it up! :)

Was playing Pathfinder Kingmaker when the Tian-shu section came up and I made a Human Wizard based on one of the names on the list.

Thanks for the video. Edited captions or a bit more text on screen would have been helpful, especially for the heritage names.

Currently playing two humans in different campaigns. 1. A Chelaxian Musket Master (NG, worships both Iomedae and Milani). [Serpents Skull] 2. A (very emotionally and spiritually troubled) Jadwiga (pronounced Yadwiga) Paladin of Falayna, who often struggles physically from various curses and character building Drawbacks. I deliberately nerfed her with curses and such to reflect in game mechanics her struggles to be a Paladin, other aspects are done by pure role playing. [Reign of Winter] I think she's my favorite character ever, and I'm a grognard.

Always wanted there to be mechanical aspects to these ethnicities but then saw a bit of commentary from Paizo that attaching mechanics to “race” more or less supported the idea of (in my words, not theirs) eugenics. That aspects could be tied to race and this weighed against one another. Very interesting take, hence why mechanics come in the form of the more generic heritages instead of ethnicities.

This sort of analysis goes to show that humans aren't boring. They're just considered that way by players who don't value history or culture.
@zenvariety93833 жыл бұрын
It would be great to see the other ancestries and more on humans. I wonder if Absomlomites are a mixture of all the human ethnicities. It would make sense to see Absomlomites have ancestors from across all of Golarion. Sort of how the United States is a melting pot in the real world.

I’m pretty sure an Ulfan Will be more likely to be a barbarian than a fighter because they are after all supposed to be comparable to the Vikings according to Paizo. Also if you’re trying to make a character that copies Thor from the marvel movies you definitely want a Barbarian and not a fighter
