Last quarter, BYD suffered massive losses in China as a result of failed investments and other questionable practises. As a result, they are eager for a market to dump their goods in order to recoup their losses. We must vary who we allow into our market and not simply accept everybody who wishes to invest in India.

Indian officials have already confirmed that the BYD-Megha JV investment will be evaluated stringently before approval. I think the language of officials indicate that the fdi might be rejected as byd will sell evs in cheap cost which will affect our own homegrown players.
